Redundant math, btw, if that's not redundant.

My ears and subwoofer are cooperating unusually well. That last one--The Essex track--would be a tough kill from a top 500 list. Mark my words, still a classic sound some 50 or whatevas years hence. I need to add "whatevas" to my dictionary. Everybody--even my computer--is trying to signal neverminds.

where was I
and why is it quiet?

That 2016 release--The Bones of a Dying World, by If These Trees Could Talk (allegedly "post-rock", but I'm still alive, so nevermind), is fantastic. Instrumental, two guitars, bass, drums. Often works for me. Does here/there. Their sound gets darker and sounds like Tool on another track, I swear. Will cheat and seek.

The transition around the 2:20 mark of this next track makes it worthy of earspace.

I forgot about an If These Trees Could Talk tune that allegedly sounds like Tool. If that means shit to anyone besides my solipsist alter-ego, than this is the primary consideration, I think.

Second is a Canadian band that aspires to such deep alternative raunchy blues. What else is "metal"?

We all shine on.

Maybe just a drumming thing. Tool has a unique sound due to Danny Carey's ears and other equipment.
