Didn't unweave the rainbow for my enjoyment of this song, so in case this isn't a repeat. Credible sources claim Cornell wrote this next one after apparently deciding to euthanize a bird that had smashed itself beyond repair into a window at his not-so-humble abode. My money is on not living long enough to finish a top 100 albums list, but the namesake disc of this one is a no-brainer for me. This title track had to grow on me, and is about as Stoic as I can allow my tolerance to become.

Recent times have desperately found me yearning for anti-oppression songs of all sorts, whether anti-government takes or against whatever entity it is that thinks it knows what is permitted, and just who is naughty and nice. My anarchism suffers from a disdain of politics--often combatted with apathy--but it seems like I covered that territory pretty thoroughly, throughout, based on the recommendations I'm finding through both organic and inorganic sources.
An inorganic oppressor sounds horrid. Lots of movies on that, but I think we must be due for a really good one. Hasn't been done yet, imo.

Ronnie James Dio really kills it on this track, and listening to this I can visualize some kind of Dune-type environment in the desert, or an ancient Egypt where all of those deemed minions are forced into brutal labor under sweltering dry heat. Powerful song from intro to resolution.

This was going to be the first review I posted at progarch, but could never get it to work and just became disillusioned by the forums there. Trippy and upbeat disc. One super-long cut off it might be a go for a 100 instrumental list, so I might revisit the tune later, if I am in a trippy and upbeat state.
