How were the withdrawls for you. I smoke a pack a day and wonder how it feels when you quit. I dont think I can do it right now and dont plan to just yet , but wonder if you found it hard to sleep, concentrate, etc during the first few weeks after quitting

Rex,
To be honest, my withdrawls werent bad at all in the start, really the first 3 weeks werent that bad, and I was surprised at how easy quitting was. I stayed home during that stretch and played all my poker online, and since I dont smoke in the house I didnt have many "triggers". That coupled with determination made the first part easy. But when I ventured out, it seemed like EVERY person I passed in a car was lighting up, every poker game I went to the guy next to me---->chain smoker, lots of problems plus that is when the nicotine really starts to get out of your system is weeks 4-6. I still want one everyday, but I feel SO MUCH BETTER I cant even describe it. Trust me, it will be the best move you ever make. I can smell, taste, breathe, no colds every other week, no smokers cough, its great :mj14:

Would help in any way I could. Youre in Cally, so you dont get the winters that we do but I was getting a chest cold or sinus infection every other week in the cold months, and this year since I quit just dry sinuses from being indoors all the time but thats it :) You couldnt pay me to smoke now. I actually quit because of a thread that someone posted on here. I will dig it up if you are interested.

Damn man, I always need a smoke when......

I wake up

Before I go to sleep

I go to the can

I am watching a critical game

After sex , dinner , work , lunch, breakfast and breaktime

With a big cup of coffee

After a big cup of coffee

Before a big cup of coffee

When I am buzzed

In other words I need one pretty much 24/7 even though I am not a chainsmoker, at least not during the week when I am working. I actually work out and keep in shape but my lungs must look horrible as I also indulge in natures finest. Plus this is not only a smelly bad habit but it can be expensive also. I am 35 and have been smoking a pack a day for 5 years. Before that I only smoked now and then when drunk. After writing all of this shit I need to go have a smoke....brb :s4: :scared

I feel you man, Im 31 and started when I was 19, so 12 years of poison for me. You just cant imagine what youre doing to your body until you quit. Not to mention the financial gain. I calculated that I can play in the World Series in 4.5 years from what I saved from not smoking, just 3.5 more years to go :)
