HOLLY SH@T. the most painfull experience in my life !! had a vasectomy years ago, was not numb when they started to cut ! would take that anyday compared to what i went through today !!in the year 2008, would you not think there must be a more comfortable way ? i spent 35 years as a dentist trying to prevent pain, and, if poeple had it to alleviate it...why, do i have to have something like ane oversized cuke in my butt and the guy says you will feel a little pinch.. the "little pinch " felt like a kick in the nuts, but i got over that until he did it 14 more times !!!!!

any male who is in their 50's or older & doesn't periodically check their prostate is asking for trouble....

I have mine checked every year. Not something you want to be fooling around with!
I've never had mine checked. I'm 36 and I don't think I've had a physical in 16 years. The only time I've been to the doc in all those years was for a broken foot.

The surgery to remove the prostate is much, much better now than even when I was got out of school in '93. it used to be a given that u would be impotent and maybe incontinent afterwards. That usually doesn't happen now.

The preferred mode of treatment is dependent on a number of factors, least of which is the size of the tumor and the stage of the disease. In many cases, the growth of the tumor is so slow that doctors must wrestle with the dilemma of "To treat or not to treat. "
Nonetheless, patients must ultimately make the decision, taking responsibility for educating themselves about all treatment options and their side effects.

i get the PSA blood work done every year but my doctor always recommends the finger method as well :nono: i haven't had that for over 20 years.
he was going to do it when i went for my annual but i told him to have them check it when i go for the colonoscopy next month. after i am asleep!
