We just moved into a new house and the shower pressure is so hard it leaves red marks on my stomach and chest, anyone out there know how I can regulate that?

i am not a plumber.. but there should be a pressure regulator either at the hot water heater, or outside the house where water enters house.

out here we have the opposite....the showers are pretty weak....what i learned was that arizona made it mandatory that all shower heads have something in them (don't know what it's called) that would slow the water pressure down when taking a shower...since i like a strong shower i took that something out of the shower head & we now have a strong shower pressure....maybe you can buy a shower head that has that thing in it to relieve the pressure...or you may be able to do it to your present shower head....

congrats on the new home...

i think this one easy,

there are two handles(knobs) that some plumbers call faucets, located in the shower.

One is for hot the other for cold. when you get in the shower and think that the pressure is too high.

Turn either one or both clockwise, u know the direction the hands moved on a clock, about half way, or until the pressure is lowered.

that should do it. :142smilie

Just having fun. most everyone is right change the shower head. if thats the only place in the house that has high pressure.

take shorter showers maybe?

Always had that problem in the military - take a shower and "enjoy yourself a lil bit" and it left that telltale red skinned bullseye on your back from being under the shower too long. As soon as you came out of the shower everyone knew what you were doing by how red your back was.

From now on Marine, please adhere to the "Don't ask, don't tell" rule.

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07: well if you didnt use the same shower heads used in the circus, industrial size ones with large amounts of btu's, then the problem may have been able to be avoided, perhaps you shouldve taken jerry's old one that he no longer wanted?
