I'm starting to gather info for upcoming hockey pools. Lots of interesting trades in the off-season. I'm always interested in hearing the opinions of my fellow hockey bums. So who will be hot? Who will not? Last year I won all 3 pools I was in - and I would like to continue my winning ways. Any opinions gladly appreciated!! Take care all. :canada1

FWIW....I do like Paul Maurice as the coach of the Leafs, yes he's not a player, but he's going to make a big difference on the Leafs this season :SIB

I only take part in one hockey pool, or fantasy league. each year.

sometimes a friend will email and will pick some names, and forget about them.

however once a year we get together, also phone, and internet. and pick our teams like a regular draft.

15 forwards
6 defense
2 goalies

and you need a rookie. goes on pts. and plus minus. goalies, wins and bonus for so.

no trades allowed, so injuries play a large part. there was a good site for tracking hokey pools you could set it up how you like, it is free.

though they wanted to charge....or plan to??

mostly for bragging....as cash is small. still fun.

kickserv I am also a leafs fan,...... and around this time of year there is always hope...... for awhile..:shrug:

I expect that Maurice will whip this team into shape...they got rid of the dead weight...and hopefully the forwards will learn a few things from Peca and come back to help the defense and not float so often.

I'm NOT sold on Raycroft, Aubin played great down the stretch last season lifted the team on his shuolders...they played great around him and now they yank the starting role from him...?? How fair is that???

agree with ya T.V. on the goalie situation....I mean how much better could Aubin have played :shrug:

Anothre leaf fan here...although Aubin played great the last 10 games or so...he is not a starting goalie...and Raycroft is a calder winner...Ill take raycroft anyday...he had a sophmore slump and we (the leafs) got him for a really good price and even better contract.

But for the pool, im going to pick Gomez ealry...now that Elias will start gomez will get lots of points....but my biggest reason on picking him early is because he is in his contract year
