Small sampling I realize, but this past weekend I played 28 NCAA halftime unders. I won 15 in the first half. I chased the other 13 and won 11 of those and lost the other two. And those two were OT games. Anyone else do this or something similar? Any way of backtesting this?

Yes. I had 20 on the first half, then 40 on the
second half of the same game if the first half lost. Figured it up and I netted over 300 on these little bets. Was never down to be concerned with my betting method. That's why I was wondering if anyone else had ever tried this. A couple of games I went with a $50 bet because of the propensity to go under anyway(bad offenses or good defenses). Those were sweet wins for no thinking.

I always look at 1/2 time total plays--if a 1/2 time total is 18 or more than the 1st 1/2 total I pile on it--does not happen very often but sometimes--I feel 2nd half plays are the way to go if you have the time to stay up with them. GL

Hawkeye question

Can you clarify what you said above. do you mean if the total is 18 more than was actually scored? sorry i just didn't quite understand. when you said you played it, did you mean played 2nd half under?

I'm definitely going to be watching this thread, and hope for some wisdom from the madjackers here.....

I've been watching NBA games looking for 3rd quarter totals to pound.....had one the other night when Det/NY put up 118 the first half.....

3rd quarter total for that game was set at 44.5, juice unusual at -115......still pounded it to go over and they combined for 52 points......

I have always felt better about 3rd quarter totals like this because the teams are coming out after halftime with some rest and while the game is still to be decided........seen a lot of 4th quarter fizzles and scrubs play the last half of the fourth, and the scoring dropoff that subsequently happens.

:toast: Nice bit of ammo for 2nd hf's, used it small tonight and went 2-3. (any profit is good profit)
Any additional info for this type of scenario? Thanks again for your O/U imput, great asset to MJ's.

what was the Oklahoma/Okie State 1H Under? Could be a chance here as I'm sure they are going to set the 2H O/U high. The pace really slowed at the end of the 2H.

I think your supposed to use half time score with Hawks 18 point play. Would'nt apply with 81 total for 2nd half.

oh, I thought it was 18 over the 1H O/U set. Thought he was going on the pace that was predicted for the game.

Oh, crap. I will have to wait for Hawks reply on this one. If it's based on books 1st half line total and I was using half time score total, I got frikin lucky this evening, :142smilie .
HAWK WE NEED YOU TO CLARIFY THIS IN LEGAL JARGON, lol.

It is the actual 1st half score--so if the score at 1/2 time is 30-20 and the 2nd half line is is 68 or more I bet the under--does not happen very often-gl

I started this thread with my betting pattern over the weekend. No thought to it, just chasing every 2nd half under that did not hit the first half. As I said, small sampling and small bets.

I mentioned I had gone larger on a few games that had a chance to go under based on the teams involved. Those might be the games I concentrate on. Don't know yet. In one instance, after losing I increased the next bet and won. Before anyone jumps on me about $ mgmnt., this is an ongoing experiment with small amounts and not a continuous Martingale.

But my thoughts are not every team is going to be hot every half of every game. And usually bettors tend to bet over, especially high scoring events. Fla and Vandy I believe, scored a bunch in their 1st half this wknd. Linesmaker set the second half total high at 74. Scored 72. Various reasons for that. Milk clock with big lead, subs in, shots not falling, etc. That's the thinking that led me to look at this. Feedback welcome.
