I am one that does buy into the hype of the home crowd being there for Ville. Like sdf said, who is going to buy tickets to root agianst Ville? And how many Stanford fans will be there? If you guys don't think a crowd rooting for you doesnt factor into home court advantage then we disagree there as well.
Anyways, to address Stanford as a team, they do play well at home. Beating UCLA/USC/WSU/Ore at home is no easy task. Too bad they are playing at Rupp Arena. On the road they are terrible and I can understand that if you think the Pac10 is just so dominant then you could pick stanford, but RS you said you had alot of Pac10 making early exits, that just doesn't make any sense to me.
Ville might have trouble with the front court of Stanford with the Lopez twins who have caused a stir in the Pac this year. But Besides Washington who has a big frontcourt? And Washington smoked them at home and came within a bucket at Stanford(UW was terrible on the road too)
Now Louisville has played big frontcourts in Pitt and Georgetown. And even though they had a losing record vs them, they still beat Pitt AT Pitt. And comparing the frontcourt of Pitt and GTown to Stanford with those twins(one of which gets barely any pt and the other one doesnt lead in reb or pts) is pretty far fetched. And Ville finished the season hot winning 7 of their last 8. Meanwhile Stanford LOST 5 of its last 8.
Like I said, if you think Pac10 is that dominant i can understand having stanford advance(but you probably have WSU/Ore/UCLA in the final four as well) Sure anything can happen in March, but just picking Stanford because some who analyzed these games are picking Ville is not handicapping or smart. I will finish saying the last worthwhile on the road win Stanford had was against Virginia(unless you consider Cal and Ore St worthwhile) and that was over 3 months ago! and that was their only 1.
