"the bunker"
"and al qaeda`s basically been routed"

sweet, then it's mission accomplished and we can withdrawal, right?

we can`t "withdrawal"(it`s "withdraw")...or as the dems like to say "redeploy"...

surrender?...they don`t use that word...but,that`s the democratic plan...

attacks and violence in iraq are very much diminished...so,the dems have shifted the bar and made the "cost" the emphasis of their surrender strategy...

we have come from a place in which iraq was in chaos ,supposedly on the verge of civil war(thats what you guys said)....fighting the baathists and al qaeda....to a place in which the baathists have been given amnesty and now fight with us against al qaeda...

citizens turn in al qaeda members in da` hood...

the heretofore enemy factions ahave entered into an "oil revenue sharing" agreement(which was one of the huge stunbling blocks in creating a civil society).....

we`ve come a long way...to leave just at the point in which our goals are beginning to be realized(progress toward greater freedom, peace, and security in the middle east....the containment of iraq`s radical influence and their threat to the moderate states and resources in the region.).....

to walk away at the most opportune time in this effort would undermine any confidence that moderate factions in the region may have in us...

leaving iran a free hand to exploit and destabilize iraq, lebanon, afghanistan, and other countries in the region.....

contrary to the stupidity that obama`s spouting, you can`t just snap your fingers and wish troops in and out of iraq...the logistics are complicated, time consumng and difficult...

we`d lose hard-won gains in security, open the door to renewed sectarian violence, strengthen the hand of sunni and shia hard-liners at the expense of moderates, and set back efforts at national reconciliation. .....

we`re on the way now to establishing the security conditions necessary for iraqis to forge a durable power-sharing agreement....

we can`t quit now...if things went south in a big way in a hurry, then you could make the argument to surrender...

My point is you can't see the forest for the trees--the whole Dem primary has been about race and gender.

You see Hiliary having to contend as you say 13% of votes--
I see- since 90% blacks are Dem that 13% black vote is twice as powerful as it would be in national election--as it is confined to just half the voters
(dems).

Women vote was slit 50/50 in Wisconsin--who has small black population--
--considering the exit polls
A:the blacks voted 91% for Obama and
B: 58% of voters were women

I see the figure 50/50 slit on "all" women quite misleading since figure includes 91% of a 58% of majority voters.

I could go on but I think you get my drift.

Here you go Bryantz

--case in point per A.P. consensus just out
--per your 13% assumption

PORTRAITS OF THE VOTERS

A third of Obama's voters have been black, compared with fewer than one in 10 of Clinton's. Forty-five percent of hers were white women, as were 27 percent of his. One in five Clinton voters were age 65 or over, nearly double Obama's proportion. And 53 percent of Obama's voters have college degrees, while 56 percent of Clinton's don't.

I haven't really read Wayne saying that Obama does not have a broad base. Every niche segment that you can win is huge. If you can dominate a niche, it goes very far in winning an election.

Just with McCain and old white men. This will go a very far distance in helping him win, if he can.

But as bryanz pointed out, there is absolutely no way to win a nomination or election with having a narrow focus of support.

This is probably one of the many factors that has lead to every one of our present politicians to be so watered down.
