I have one (a bowflex), and love it. There's almost no excersize you can't do on it. I did upgrade to the 410lbs of resistense. Only really needed for leg training though.I did try a Bowflex Extreme, and didn't like it nearly as much as mine. I have the Power Pro, with lat pulldown and leg extension. Bowflex comes highly recomended from me. Great machine.

well,i sprung for it....and i have to say.i`m very happy with it...so far...

actually, the range of motion is better than what i was getting with the universal machine.....much better....the pulley system allows a much more flexible range of motion...

and i can basically do every exercise i can think of...and the movements are really smooth...doesn`t take as much concentration to do movements correctly...

the directions were excellent...it came in 4 boxes...each box indicated the parts that it contained...every part was there...and tooled perfectly..

so many different ways to work shoulders, calves, arms triceps....i was even able to hook an old neck harness to one of the upper pulleys...

if i had one gripe, actually two,it would be that the seated leg press is quite a bit light for exercising the thighs...may have to rig some bands or something to get the appropriate resisitance...and the bands are labeled in poundage...and they don`t truly represent the amount indicated...

and get the model that allows you to add additional bands that increase the resisitance

still,i`m going to disassemble the old universal machine....

all in all,i was shockingly pleased..expensive...but,imo,well worth it...i was already in the mindset that i was going to be disappointed...i was not...

i used to laugh at these things...now,i`m sorry i didn`t do it sooner..

.i just hope it`s durable...

where can i get a neck harness thats compatible with this machine...i used to have neck and upper back pain until i started doing neck exercises..been away from the gym for 3 years b/c of a leg injury..think i may get this soon, but i need the neck thing...you guys sure the rom is okay ,doesnt look it on the video..worse rom if your tall?

I had a bowflex and lift all the time and I can honestly say benching a true 325 lbs with regular weights and setting the Bowflex at a tension of 325 lbs were completely different.........like night and day.......just my opinion.......but I dont think the bowflex was near as hard as free weights......

Had a friend who was bragging about benching 300lbs at the gym.Had him come over to my place and laughed my ass off when he couldn't do 260 on my bowflex. After I just did it for 10 reps to show him the ropes. The most I've ever done on free weights was 280 for 1. I guess everybody is different.

PS. He now owns a Bowflex.
