Just curious if any of you guys had any pros/cons, love it /hate it experience with the Escape. Mrs. Goose thinks they're "cute" and is thinking of going to a smaller SUV... "Cute" is not in my list of requirements for a car....but then again, I'm a guy... :)

Anyway, I haven't done much homework yet on them, but sometimes going straight to people who have experienced them is part of the best homework you can do....

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Drove 1 for 2 years when I worked for Progressive, was not impressed. Steering was real stiff, unfomfortable ride. A lot of electrical problems with them and engine problems. Really not that roomy either. Gas mileage sucked. Interior looks real cheap, crappy stereo. Real bad wind noise on the highway.

Pretty much what Agent said!!!

agree with above posters, had a hybrid edition for 2 weeks (company car) and gas mileage was still shit. Hardly any interior room, and the interior looks so cheap "plastic"

get a lexus 350 or lincoln mmk

Thanks for the input guys. I kind of suspected the same thing--as the price point on these is nowhere near some of the other smaller SUV's... I may look toward a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Honda Pilot though I'm not a big fan of dropping an extra 10K when I can potentially avoid it!

I drive my mother-in-laws Pilot quite a bit when she needs my truck. I love driving it. It's got a very tight feel to it where the handling is great and you just feel safe in it.

... BUT that might be because I am used to driving a 14 year old vehicle! :)

I'm not big on spending money on cars.... until I can get my drop top GTO!
