I will be traveling to Sydney and Perth to work with banking/insurance companies along with Financial Services institutions. Looking to get an idea of places to eat (from what I hear Frasers is the place) along with areas for nightlife. Also, any ideas with tourist ideas would be greatly appreciated. There is a lot of freedom on this trip so even things in surrounding areas work. While I am in Sydney there won't be much free time so I am hoping to do a lot in Perth. Thoughts, insight and ideas greatly appreciated and welcome...

Just to add--I know you said you have some free time but let me tell you if you get a chance to drive outside of either city and get to the beaches OUTSIDE of the major cities and suburban areas you will be awed by the isolation and beauty of the beaches and water...I am a Beach and water guy, and you wont find better... than Down Under..

bombercoops - thanks for the kind words.

worm - I'll have to check out CBD and thanks for the information. Frasers is a place that supposedly we already have reservations for in early March... like you said tough to get in. Also, I do plan on checking out the beaches AWAY from the big cities. If you happen to think of other places it is greatly appreciated.

Chanman - heard of something similar to this happening in the US. I'll have to say, "No thanks." if someone offers it to me.

Keep the ideas/places/thoughts coming as I don't leave until March 3rd...

Just found out that I will be playing The Vines and Joondalup golf courses in Perth. If anyone knows any other places to play in either Perth, the surrounding areas or in Sydney I'd appreciate the names. Thanks and I'll update this as more information is sent to me...

BD, I'm a scratch golfer and I can assure you that you will love teeing it up at the vines and joondalup. Two solid courses. While is Sydney, depending on who you know etc. there is the 'australian', the 'lakes', bonnie doone (sp?), long reef, and plenty of other great courses in the area. Checking out Bondi beach should also be a priority if you would like to spectate the array of topless females on australian beaches. I'm sure you will love the trip down under. If anything else comes to mind I will fill you in mate.

Perth is a great city though small and quiet. Fremantle is cool.
Just don't try driving over the Nullabor Plain (desert) in summer without air-conditioning in an old shitbox!!! I learnt that the hard way!! LMAO

Checkout Bondi Beach and Tamarama (next beach south) while in Sydney. Was there a few days ago on my way back south to Melbourne. Just make sure you are wearing the dark sunglasses so they don't catch ya 'perving' at the 'white pointers'!! :SIB

bombercoops - I'm really looking forward to the golf in Perth and as of today nothing is yet set in Sydney. I'll have to remember the courses you mentioned and hopefully will get a chance to golf there as well. Also, I do plan on a day trip to Bondi Beach. If you do think of any other places you would suggest for eating, drinks or golf it is much appreciated.

PAWAQATSI - probably a great call on the sunglasses with a dark tint from what I have heard...

BD, pawa is probably the best guy to ask about dining and drinking hot spots as he used to live there. On the golf side of things, if you don't know anyone in sydney, you will have no problem finding somewhere to play once you're down there mate. Plenty of courses to pick from.

A few more questions for my Aussie mates! Any information that you may have on Albany would be greatly appreciated as I will be staying there for 4 nights. Restaurants, bars, clubs and beaches are all welcome. I also am looking into either phone cards or a World Phone as I will be there for 5 weeks and will need to communicate with my new bride. I have Verizon as my cell phone carrier and am looking into options. Again any insight or thoughts as what to use is much appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from my MJ friends...
