there is a race element to what the last three poster think the threat is right ?

duh?? the first non-100% white man ever to represent his party to run for president. Plenty of racists/fringe idiots to go around, and unlike the sponge thinks, that aren't all in the dirty South. He also is considered muslim by more people than you think, and I think that's more dangerous for him than being considered black. Stay safe, Obama; would hate for him to get hurt before McCain can beat him in November.

I just find all of this concern from the oppostion about the possibility of assassination reduced to the lowest common denominator (race) simplistic. JFK & RFK were not killed because they were White.

I find your lack of concern simplistic. Again, I'll reiterate, I do not want him to be harmed in any way by any fringe loon. For you to see he's in no more danger than anybody else, to me, is very utopian.

If you reduce this race to race you are missing the real story. There is a huge segment of support for Obama that has nothing to do with Him or what He stands or doesn't stand for. People are going to cast their vote not for Him but against what they feel is the power structure of America that they want to send a message to. They want to crack that structure for the first time in most of our life times. The structure which includes not only McCain but the Clintons. This is not a battle for the White House. This is a major offensive to take America back. Win or lose, the fight will go on. We are entering a new day in America. The frequency of the battles will hopefully increase from here. How could he raise the money He raised ? How did He get the votes from places some thought He couldn't ? This is not about Obama. This is a movement !

He's in danger but not because He's Black.

There have been a few people at madjacks who are not to happy on how the South votes why make me the spokesman? I agree with your comment about Racist everywhere but the Muslim comment could be just one of those Southern thangs.:mj07:

Wow! You have bought into the marketing. You may be right, only time will tell, but you are proof that the message that they are marketing is being accepted.

And, yes, politics is nothing more than marketing. Just like why some people use Tide and some people use Cheer.

Ancient Chinese secret, eh? -- that phrase probably sold millions of dollars of fabric softener (?) that was no different than the next box in the aisle. I was young... I can't remember. I just know it was in a pink box. :)

And, yes, I am absolutely 100% sure that he is in more danger than ANY white man running for President.

Becuase he has all the dangers of being a political figure head such as JFK, Reagan, etc. that someone can passionately hate their views and what they stand for PLUS there is a large contigency of ignorant people out there who are extreme racists and another not so large contingency of ignorant people who lump him in with radical Islam.

I don't think it's a reason to or not to vote for him. But I don't like the thoughts of what will happen if he is assasinated.

I don't see why it's such a problem to say/think this.
