I'm certain these e-mails are not coming from EBAY but I won't click on the links inside them to find out what they are, anyone else getting these? Anyone know what they are? My guess is a virus or porn site:shrug:

I have got them also, usually asking me how much shipping is to such and such place.

The funny thing is it has the sellers right email on it and then the person who sent it, and someone ebays system hickups to me.

I have emailed a couple people add $100 for shipping and actually got a couple pissed responeses.. I don't know what these are, but I don't think it is a virus, I don't click on any links.

Even though there is no attatchment I think they could be a virus, if you click the link they have in the e-mail couldn't it take you to a site that automaticaly starts to download something to your computer, spyware at the very least? I tend to agree with Jamacia1997, nothing good can come from opening those links. The message does tell you who the seller is "supposed" to be and if you go to Ebay there is a place to look up everything a seller has listed at the time so I typed a few of the names these e-mails have had and none of them ever show up as Ebay members so if it's a harmless prank then some sick-o has way too much time on his hands, speaking of which has anyone heard from Scott-Atlanta recentyly:shrug:

If you do indeed have an Ebay account, take some time to make sure that your account has not hijacked. The bad guys are stealing peoples identities and running bogus auctions on high ticket items.

my mom gets a hoax ebay email every week.

Hers are usually asking her to verify her account within 48 hours or her privileges will be taken away. Most have a different type of header, usually a combo of letters and numbers, and you can do a search for that and it points to the hoax.

If you sell on ebay, you get the question for seller emails all the time, and they are not hoaxes (at least the ones I get are not). However, a person who has emailed me a question (they are usually stupid) has NEVER bought anything.

If you are selling items on ebay, be careful as some of the emails can be legitimate as ebay does let bidders send emails to sellers through their site & it will be titled question for seller.

It's spam, you can do one of 2 things if yah really want to:

1- Forward them to the goverment because ebay does nothing about it:

uce@ftc.gov

Or:

2- Forward them to:

'spoof@ebay.com'

I second that! Freaking racist, but funny as hell.

Yea, BTJ is a classic old-time white guy, it's that simple and people like that can't change, I think he's kidding a lot of the time though and doesn't mean it all in racist ways so ya just gotta take it and laugh, i'm a fellow northeasterner, there does not seem to be tons on here compared to the south and midwest, but I find his posts freakin hilarious if you take em for what they are, entertainment
