It's been in the works for a while. I think they wehre wanting to have an event on HBO before the end of the year. There is someone higher up in HBO that was blocking it because he thought the UFC was too violent but with the ratings the shows have been getting it was a no brainer. The only bad thing is that when it's on HBO, HBO gets to have the announcers they want. I know Rogan gets bashed on by a lof hardcore fans but I like him. He tells you exactly what the guys need to do on the ground or are working for.
