it was the right call as it was not a fumble but an illegal forward pass - I was waiting for the refs to blow the call though, glad they got it right

I don't know....if he was down, it was the right call. If it was an illegal forward pass...well, I'm pretty sure they could decline the penalty and take the TD.

Just re-watched it, should have prob been a penalty and UTSA ball w 6-7 seconds left after penalty marked off. But yeah, no TD. I'll take it!!

If the accept the penalty its 6 because he used up the final few seconds on the clock running it in,, if they decline then there should be a few seconds put back on the clock.. correct? I have no wager either way but seems as if Arizona got it where it hurts...

If its an illegal pass, then they can't return it, since it hit the ground. But yeah, should be 6-7 seconds on the clock. Prob doesn't change the outcome (who knows) but it did hit the ground so no way they can return it. Weird ending, but I think its at least close to fair.

In real game thinking....UTSA should be wishing for the 6-7 seconds to have one last play...but again, 75 yards away....tough for anything to happen...

pretty sure it's a 10 second runoff if foul occurs during last minute of game or half -

The ten-second runoff rule

In the NFL and NCAA, a 10-second runoff is assessed if any of the following acts are committed by the offense in the last minute of either half:
1.A foul by either team that prevents the ball from being snapped
2.Intentional grounding
3.Illegal forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage
4.Throwing a backwards pass out of bounds
5.Spiking or throwing the ball away after a down (unless after a touchdown)
6.Any other intentional act that causes the clock to stop

Yeah, pretty sure that applies, thanks for posting that. Definitely no way that TD would count...which I didn't know until re-watching and seeing that it wasn't intercepted. But yeah, didn't even think about the 10-second run-off.

I've bee screwed before by late bullshit....I think last year it was Purdue getting some weird laterals and giving up a TD...maybe to Ohio State??

Anyway, was all over this game as so many others were....and what a horrific start....and to have lost it like that....but yeah, great win for so many of us. Thanks for the clarification and good night all....my account is so much fuller right now!! Although I still think that FG was good (had small play on ML lol)
