Just curious if anyone here uses Alternate runlines which are available at pinnacle?

They allow you to play the dog at -1.5 runs....

So i'm interested to see if anyone uses them or finds any value in them....

Or maybe using them to play both the fav and the dog on the runline at + odds basically betting that the game will not be a 1 run game...

Thanks

I have toyed around with the idea of taking -1.5 on both teams on Colorado games with the idea that more scoring makes for fewer one run games. I think this was a decent scalp opportunity in the past, but the humidor may have brought an end to it (2-1 yesterday for example)
On playing the dogs for -1.5 I don't think in the long run it would not benefit you because

I think to play a dog -1.5 it would have to be a special case where you had a trend or some info that made that game different. I don't know of any off hand but maybe a favored starting pitcher has an occasional blow up game where he just gets lit up. If you were playing this the runline dog might not be a bad way to go
Just my two cents

does anyone have a database and could look up how often that when a Dog wins the game that they only win by 1 run?

Thanks

I've done it twice

I've done it twice

The first time was a couple of week ago with Fogg of Pitt at home on the mound against Oswalt... won that one 4-2 (it was +345)..

The second time I played the Brewers but they lost outright..

I usually look at them everyday - at times they appear to have value, but I have a real hard time pulling the trigger.

Hmm... Got some very interesting Stats from another site about this!

Out of 44250 games, the dog has won 19145 times.... Out of those 19,145 times the dog has won by more than one 13,585 times... Meaning the dog wins by 2 or more 70.958% of the time...
