I notice as I get older sometimes when I think I am getting a cold I actually have a sinus infection(same symtoms....fatigue,congestion,headaches,swollen eyes etc..)............I take a decongestant and nasal spray and sometimes amoxicillin............was wondering if anyone has a better solution......

might help to start a med like claritin/allegra/zyrtec and take it daily.
I had a bad infection back in August, and I've had recurrences now for 4th time. I can't seem to get rid of it and keep it gone. Might be time for further testing for both of us. Hope u feel better.

I feel your pain...I had the same symptoms...just got over a bout of it about a week ago after it lasted two weeks. I don't think there is much for us...amoxicillin helps, over-the-counter--forget it. The bad thing is we aren't even talking spring allergies yet. But I definitely had what you have...antibiotics finally cleared it up for me...but it sure wasn't pretty.

i have had 3 sinus infections since the middle of january.......
i'm also taking zyrtec-d for allergies...doesn't seem to help prevent the sinus infections.

talk to your doctor about visiting an ENT if you have recurrent sinus infections....i would try to ask for one that isn't too aggressive
some sinuses simply do not drain and set up shop for infections especially as you age this becomes worse
