Anyone going to preseason games?

I was curious if any of you have caught any preseason games. My roomate went to the canes game last night, said that anything close to holding was called. He was saying there were a ridiculous number of penalties called. I'm wondering if this is going to be enforced league-wide. Especially when they get a specific area to harp on ususally for at least a few months they will call it tight. Is it going to be clutching/grabbing this year?

Anyone else gone to any games and seen this?

not sure if the trend will continue, noticed in the chicago/calgary game tonight:

There were 28 minor penalties, 17 against Chicago and 11 against Calgary. Chicago was 3-for-10 on the power play, while Calgary was 2-for-17.

22 minor pen. in phnx/minnesota game.
16 minor pen. in atlanta/phil game.
15 minor pen. in dallas/colorado game.
13 minor pen. in buffalo/washington game

and anaheim/la game still going on.


tons of hooking penalities in the games.

Thanks IE, I wonder if they are trying to set the message in preseason only or if it will continue into the regular season.

I wonder what kind of totals we will see early in the year... 5.5? I think there could be a lot of money to be made on NHL this year, especially early.

will see how it goes, definitley will still need goaltending as a strength and one that is adopt to handling the puck well to move the puck to defenseman and out of zone quickly.

power play units will probably something to keep an eye on.....


also i am assuming the books will go to format of somesort of regulation time only for plays so totals and sides might not be affected at all, but have to see what pinnacle and likes puts out oct 5th.

I went to the Kings/Ducks game on Sept 17th, They called anything close. The Kings had to kill a 9min penalty to start the game. The shootout was kinda fun..........great to see hockey again
