I'd like to try to brew my own beer. Never put any effort into learning yet though.

How tough is it?

Thats all I needed to hear. I have enough messy hobbies. I'm just sitting down with some more beans from yesterday. Even better the second day.

I swear I was just thinking about heating the beans up. Halftime.

quite easy if you use a kit. Can you boil water and put the beer in a bottle? Then you can home brew. If you want to brew like a brewery and use fresh hops etc etc, it requires a bit more work and yes, it makes a bit of a mess.
If you decide to brew at home, MAKE SURE YOUR BOTTLES ARE CLEAN!
a dirty bottle will ruin your beer and you will be pissed you spent all that time and effort only to have to pour the results down the drain....
Brewed at home for years--haven't in over 4 years--my daughter is almost 4. Coincidence? I think not....:142smilie
