Is it worth the hassle? How good is the continuous programming?

I dont have a viewsat but a friend of mine does. I have a sonic view 4000. I love it. Another of my friend has a pansat3500. Lets see thats the question I get most is it worth it. Let me start by saying I still pay for cable. On the other hand is it worth getting every payperview event and movie for free; espn gameplan both basketball and football for free ; every ufc fight for free ; every boxing match for free; every nhl game every nfl game thanks to a bunch of local channels all over the Us. Every channel dish offers and blevue( for you non canadians thats canadian dish netowrk.) Hell yeh it is..... Now is it up and workj 100% of the time .... NO.... Will it go out for a week at a time yes.. Do I care since I get it all for free and it going out sometimes is just part of the game... No ... Bottum line is I dont understand why any sports fan doesnt have a fta. I live in alabama and I get canadian dish and good ole dish network and I'm loving it.

Where in AL are you? I'm in the Athens, AL area. I thinking of getting a FTA system but I'm a little leary about the satellite TV signal legal stuff. I got caught up it the Direct TV signal theft scandal a few years back and it cost me $4500. It was decoding a decrypted signal and I know that if you are receiving a non encrypted signal there should be no laws broken. BTW I do still subscribe to Direct TV and Dish Network.

The company I bought my card programmer from was altering cards for the public which is illegal. I simply ordered a programmer which is hardware only. Anyway the feds busted these guys and got my credit card info. I got caught up in a civil suit that was filed in federal court in B-ham. I got threatening letters from Direct TV stating that they wanted $3500 and after they filed the suit it went to $4500. I settled out of court cause I could not find a lawyer willing to take case because most lawyers were unfamiliar with the federal encrypted code regulations. If it went to court Direct TV would pursue up to $100K in damages.
