My workplace recently put in internet filters to not allow certain sites including gambling sites.

Curious if anyone else has encountered this and if there is a way for me to be able to browse Madjack's at work and get around this filter.

You never know with filters. If you feel it is worth it you can experiment. Sometimes you can get in through the backdoor by going to Yahoo or Msn and going through their search function. The one at my work is crazy - I can't get on Madjacks but I can get on my offshore book.

If they are going to the trouble to lock these sites out I'm sure they are monitoring to see where you are going.

Find out the IP address of the site you want to access (four numbers, separated by periods). Then instead of entering "www.madjacksports.com" you enter "http://69.48.207.45" (or whatever it is). If they were lazy they may have just blocked out words like "sport", in which case any site with the word "sport" in the name is not allowed. Enter the numbered address, and voila, you are in (if they were lazy about it).

You can often find the numbered address by searching internic.net and entering the name in the "Whois" section.

I would suggest being careful, if they put in filters they may have put other software in place i.e keystroke loggers etc. there are log files for everything.

Of course they can also block out IP address ranges to block anything that starts with 67.18.*.* . I agree, I'd also be careful with this. But that address works. :)

You also may be able to stay clear of any potential trouble by trying the above suggestions on a co-workers computer, instead of your own. :brows:
