Still looking for clients that want to claim some horses to run at EVD in April. Have about one month left to claim at Delta and FG. If you want to get in the horse racing business or maybe you and your friends want to own a horse this would be a great opportunity to get in the game.

We charge $20 per day and you pay the vet bills if there are any. If interested please contact jack for my e-mail.

Thanks Train.

When you ready to take the dive let me know-Best way to get into the game is round up some buddies who would like to get into racing and yall split everything between yall. That way you dont take the full risk, you spread it around.

Im doing that with 4 guys and myself. We are claiming another one in december and we each putting up 1200 each.

The 2 horses i have now me and my buddy own 50/50

Luck and Theisman,

Very good question. Yes you can make money with low level claimers BUT in the long run if you keep on claiming low level claimers(3.5K, 5K) you will end up losing money. So why did i claim a 5K claimer? Well it was all i could afford, i did get some info on the horse in that the horse was sound enough to claim for 5K. Most horses are not sound enough to claim for 3.5K, 4K, or 5K. Me personally if i had the money i would only claim 10K horses on up. Why? because these horses are better quality horses and are sounder than a low level claimer. You will get a sounder and better horse and you will get more miles out of a 10K claimer.

Last year i claimed a 5K horse for a friend at the time. My buddy trained the horse and it won 4 races in 6 months and 3 in a row at ome time. The horse made 25K in purse money in 6 months but thats not counting vet bills and training fees. I ended up claiming him one for 15K because he was basically out of the 5K horse and this was going to be a free horse since he had already made 25K with the first horse. Well we ran this filly and after the 2nd race she was already paid for. So the money he won he just would claim another horse because he was ahead of the game. So all it takes is for one 5K horse to get you started. But you have to find the right horse for 5K. Hope this helps..

How do you go about claiming the horse...I am in Illinois, right by the Arlington Track (not sure if that makes a difference).

Well you have to have an owners license in the state that you want to claim. And to get that you have to own a horse. Then you pick a trainer and you and him/her pick out a horse to claim. You fill out a claim slip 15 minutes before the scheduled race on the hore that you want to claim. if more than one person fills out a claim slip for the same horse then they draw to see which person gets the claim.

ageecee -- I have two seperate groups of very close friends who are owners. One almost became famous for the worst horse ever to run in the Kentucky Derby.Tincin

They ended up pulling the horse last minute stating that they didn't want to embarass the Derby's tradition. It was fun listening to the hype when it first came about, though.

The other group has been much more successful. They have a pretty nice horse runnin now, Josh's Madeline, who placed in the Iowa Distaff Breeder's Cup back in the summer.

Both groups started out by claiming $5k horses, so it is possible to enjoy some success this route.

I will definitely own horses later in life when I have more expendable cash.

Saturday nite-Sam Houston

10th race-Yaelforhadif

Dawgball,

Yes its very possible to go the 5K route and end up making money in this game but its a very low percent. Unfornutaley thats the route i have to take and so far so good for me knock on wood.
But if i had the money i would bypass the 5K horse and concentrate on 10K horses on up.

You know i remember that horse Tincin, that was awhile back wasnt it? have not heard of Joshs Madeline but if it placed in a stakes race at Prairie then thats a very nice horse.

let me know when u ready dawg i will help as much as possible.
