My wife is a big movie buff... doesn't like to buy many movies, but loves to rent them. Someone at work was telling me about netflix. I believe you pay $18 a month and can rent movies which they send to you overnight.

Does anyone use netflix, or know more information about it?

Blockbuster has the same kind of deal and you do not have to wait to get the movies in the mail. Go to your local blockbuster and ask about their promotion that is similar to this. I've used Netflix, it's good but the movies in the mail can take up to a week to get. Much better to just go to a blockbuster on a $20 monthly movie pass. It's a no brainer.

Wife and I just signed up for Blockbuster deal similar to NetFlix. I belive it was a tad under $18 bucks. For the instore version, I believe its like $24.XX. For us, we decided the mail in method should be good enough. Over Thanksgiving, we rented 2 movies and it come out to like $9.85 or something. Figure for 9 more bucks, you should be able to get your money's worth.

no comparison - bb-walmart hopping on bandwagon. Netflix is awesome. endless selection. you can browse by movie or star. have 3 movies at a time. I mail them back as soon as I finish them. They notify when they send and receive. Walmart and blockbuster have terrible selection because they are getting their feet wet. Netflix jumped in.

I used to be a member of netflix until their prices went up, but I was doing the 8 at once with no limit per month. Back then it was only $32 a month, and now it's over $50. Anyway, if you have a DVD burner with the right software, you can order any movie you want on your "queue" and copy them. Blank DVD's are alot cheaper than buying the real movie for the same picture quality. Best of luck in whatever you do.

Just a couple of added comments...New movies on netflix should be requested as soon as possilble or you will be on a short, long, or very long waiting list. I remember when netflix first came out on the stock market at like $4-$6 per share...Look at it now!!!!

I use Walmart. Been using it for about 9 months and it's a great service. Signed up for Netflix first, for a free month trial about a year ago. Near the end of the month trial, I attempted to cancel, and they offered me another month and I accepted the offer. They clearly stated that they wouldn't bill me till the end of the second month, however sure enough, I was billed immediately. Their FAQ's on their website don't address this problem, obviously, so I searched long and hard for a phone number, which I couldn't find because they don't offer a phone number for customer service on their site. My only option was to use their email form on their website to submit a question. They of course never responded to that. I stopped using the service and contested the charge with AMEX.
Drives me nuts when these companies that do business online don't give a phone number for customer service, or make it next to impossible to find a number. I understand the cost structure, and why they do it, but some issues/questions fall outside the box, and at the very least, respond to incoming requests!
Won't give them my money at this point when Walmart is just as good, and they've given better service.
