Wow, great episode. We found out what the button is pushed for, what happens when it's not pushed, who the leader of the other was.

The ending w/ Desmond's girl and the electromagnetic disruption and the russians...weird. Don't know what to make of that.

My theory: the others set up the electromagnetic field to lure in aircraft and boats, as it did to desmond, the french woman and the plane. They brainwashed whoever was on the island with the whole "Darma Initiative" to keep them believing it and pushing the button. That way, the electromagnetic field would remain to lure people to the island. For whatever reason, the others hand select people from those groups to take.

Probably wrong but i can't see what else it could be.

Where do you think the others "home" is they were referring to taking jack and them?

What is the significance of bearing 325 degrees so michael can leave, while desmond sailed forever and found his way back to the island.

First, those two men were speaking brazilian (portuguese). I think her dad is somehow involved in the Dharma thing. Best way to keep the two of them apart, strand him on that island. She knew this, and setup those guys (with her money) to look for the electromagnetic anomalies...to know where the place was.

First, let's get back to common sense....that plane doesnt come down and have survivors. Second, that doesnt explain the apparent interconnection of everyone on the plane, Desmond to Jack, and so on. Third, remember there wasnt even going to be aperosn in the hatch until the last minute of writing....so all of this cant be critical to the overall story that was planned out. Fourth....the plane they snag...how on earth would these Others know the names of the people?

All this stuff is just more red herrings.
