I was watching it. Sweeney told the ump to go visit Weaver, so the ump went to the mound and Weaver moved the rosin bag. The ump was walking back and Weaver put his glove to the right side of his face and said something, I think to Fick (catcher) but maybe to Sweeney.
Sweeney then went on a 'roid rage as Weaver turned his back and started walking to the back of the mound. Sweeney went around the ump and (chickensh(it)) threw his helmet at Weaver froma bout 8 ft away and then missed a punch. The missed punch turned into a crossbody block and then both benches emptied and it was broken up before anything else happened.
One side note is that Robert Fick was super pissed. Byrd, the KC starter, came off the bench and put Fick in a headlock while two other Royals started giving him short punches. I was shocked that Byrd was not ejected and Fick wanted him bad as everyone was calming down.
On highlights, you can't hear the play by play, and was wondering if the game announcer had a better clue...
