Not sure why I expected something else but gimme a break. This is what Basketball has become on almost every level. Its disgusting, its kinda like watching one of those AND1 shows on ESPN2, not that I ever do for more than 30 seconds. Any second that goofy Fat Albert guy is gonna yell, "The Professaaaaaa" :cursin:

tough to change the channel when there is money on the line. But it is definetely better than watching a nba game.

I can only imagine how bad it must be for someone like Box and One who probably remembers the way the game used to be, to see it in its current "form". Think about it.

its always interesting when this topic comes up. a lot of times, this comes up in the nba forum. guys point to how things were during the magic/jordan/bird era. the pure jump shooting was probably better during the 80s but the defense was pathetic. frankly, whats not to like about watching uconn play? they're one of those teams that really get after it and they have a unique ability to play at different speeds. when pittsburgh and georgetown slow them down, they can win. and when teams speed them up, they can play that style too.

Whats not to like? Well where should I start, How about the field goal percentage in this game:

Cinci: 21-59= .356%
3 pt: 6-18= .333%

Uconn: 25-67= .373%
3pt: 4-15= .267%

Assists for the game: 28
Turnovers: 27

Every single play, we have to see a player complaining to the refs, lack of ball movement, most of the time lack of foul shooting. Do I need to see pure jump shooting and fast breaks? No, but these games have no flow to them anymore, they are turnover filled, everybody scrambling around bumping into each other, then usually two guys going 1 on 1 and more of the same back down the court. Now this applies more to the NBA than to NCAA, although College is heading that way, but when did they finally decide that not applying the rules would make for a better game? Oh, yeah he traveled, but you dont want us blowing the whistle every other play, you want to see some B-ball. NO FUKCHEAD, you call traveling every once in a while, so call it EVERY time or you are just making shit up. Why not apply the rules to the "best" players in the World? What would you rather see, Tiger Woods hit it out of bounds and Mickelson turns his head while Tiger drops another ball out of his pocket, or Tiger make that walk back to the tee and try to scramble for a Bogey? Fukc the guys even go into rants and shit on the video games, yelling at the refs. Its become part of the game, just go watch one its all you hear is cry, cry, cry to the refs. Its a joke, and I miss the way it use to be because I loved that style :cursin:

Game has changed......
Fill the stands........excite the crowd....athleticism over xxxs and ooos..........physical play (welcome to the BE) speed over tact and ball movement....Teams today have to be BIG,STRONG, DEEP,VERSATILE,SKILLED, and WELL COACHED...to win consistently...The BEST ATHLETES are not necessarily the ones with the highest level of skills...There are a lot of 90% foul shooters playing intermural ball cuz they Cannot run with, jump with or guard todays ballplayers.............Curious?? How would Cousey fare today?
Its all relative to the time...How many MLB ballplayers know how to bunt??? Could Andy Robustelli play anywhere with the Giants today??
It is indeed unfortunate that purists who understand and look for the knowledge and skills today are sure to find great athletes lacking in some areas but dominating in others...JMHO
