Magill has already had one tour of duty with the Dodgers this season. He made his major league debut on Apr. 27 against the Brewers at Dodger Stadium, and was 0-0 with a 5.50 ERA in four starts, with 19 strikeouts and 13 walks in 18 innings. He allowed just two runs while pitching into the seventh inning in his debut and struck out a season-high eight in Atlanta on May 19, but both were no decisions.

Magill was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on May 20 when Ted Lilly returned from the disabled list. In his one start back with the Isotopes, he pitched six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts, and picked up his first win of the season after eight no-decisions between the majors and minors.

After that May 25 start, Magill was slated to pitch again on Thursday but was skipped in preparation of possibly being needed on Sunday.
