I'm pretty sure they aren't going under. Their corporate office is based here in KC, and if they were having problems, it would be all over the news, and it isn't. A friend of mine flies their corporate jet and he hasn't said anything about looking for another job or Applebees going under. I'm not a big fan of their food either, but someone must like it. Seems like the parking lots are pretty full everytime I drive by one.

I liked their ribs...

But still going strong in MN!

Someone mentioned Chi CHi's.... they closed most of them down in MN years ago...I think we have like 1 left or so in the state. There also used to be a Garcia's Mixican restaurant that was great, that also closed years ago.

Appleby's didn't do too well on the Dateline NBC clean kitchen survey. Maybe they've shut down for a good cleaning.

The Appleby's here in Guadalajara, Mexico is still running.

They just opened one in my home town. i thought this was a questionable move since the town is too small to support a restaurant like this.

I never cared for Applebee's food, but I always enjoyed sitting in their bar more than any other chain while I was on the road. Nothing like a big Brutus to end your day.

#1 restaurant in Bowling Green, Kentucky. 4:30 PM on Saturday afternoon there parking lot is filled with pick up trucks. Heck, even by closing time at 8:00 PM, you can nary find a place to park your F-150. Mighty fine eatin.

My bad Dawg. Your right. Rafferty's Fine Dining. Mobil 5 star rating. Easy to get to also. Walk into Larry's Bowling Palace at the corner of Main and Adolf Rupp Drive, wave a Larry behind the shoe counter walk right on by lane 8 and there you are at Rafferty's. Just belly up to the counter, order yourself a tall cold snapple and your in KY heaven while listening to the golden tones of Waylon Jennings comin over the jukebox amidst the background sounds of bowling pins crashing.

Ah yes, Saturday night in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to take my wife to Great American Ballpark and join the other 256 fans to watch the 4th place Reds take on the 5th place Pirates in a game that has absolutely no meaning to anyone on the planet, including Marty and Joe. See, us city slickers up here in the big city really know how to have a good time. Come to think of it, I think I would rather be in that bowling alley in Bowling Green.

applebee's is closed here in memphis. slow business and one of the partner's is deceased. they only had one good location anyway. oh well, no loss for me aas there are hundreds of other places i would rather eat at. on a side note, my bro has eaten at a few up north and he says they are better outside of memphis.

Marty--Is O'Charley's here in Nashville? I don't really know. I've only been here 4 months. I'm actually a KY native (Henderson), so I think you are in the best state there is.

I think Houston's (probably my favorite of the chains) started here in Nashville. I'm heading to Ted's Montana grill for a bison burger today! Good stuff!
