27th: 2-5 -7.3
YTD: 38-29-2 +3.5 (19-23 ML, 7-1 RL, 12-5-2 totals)
comments: first back-to-back losing days--I shouldn't bitch (maybe just cry a little)
Thank Hendrix it's a quiet board for Thursday as
some chillin' is in order.
avoided to save money:
--marlins -150 (most tempting of my passes; Jennings is no dud, at times, and this is still the Rockies at home; Burnett is great, but this is a little more than I want to pay here)
--Royals +115 (ughh; Lohse has not been very good, but Run-Elvis is not an encouraging play; considering the over, here, though bats have been quiet on both sides lately)
--Indians -122 (# is appealing, but performance by Indians Wednesday is not; Tigers playing with some fire, and watching Indians vs lefties is like viewing a Charlie Chaplin film)
--under in same (Indians vs lefties is a plus; Millwood not looking great last two (9 er in 12.1 IP vs Minny & @LAA) is a minus)
Back with some carefully considered installments if and when I find my nerve.
'At least yesterday is over' rebound shots:
--Cards -1.5 1/1 (pitching matchup heavily favours Marquis, and with Cards able to hit lefties just fine, thank-you...well, if I have to mention which bats are favoured here then you have probably found this website by mistake)
--Jays 1.3/1 (Towers better than 5.66 era suggests--he pitched 2 great games before having a rough outing @Texas (which many do) and in last at home to a smoking hot Baltimore club; Waechter probably belongs back in the bullpen where he came from, as evidenced from his first (in last) start vs Bosox (10 hits, 5 er, in 5 IP))
--NYY -1.5 1/1.3 (I am gambling (no chit) that Brown does not have Schilling syndrome; Lackey's 6.64 era will probably not be helped in this one vs temporarily embarassed Yanksticks)
My transgressions:
Cards -1.5 +100 1/1
Jays -130 1.3/1
NYY -1.5 +130 1/1.3
As tempting as anything else might be, I can sin no more.
Sativa for peace.
