Maybe not, but maybe so. I was in the crowd back in the early 80's (come to think of it on many nights I was the crowd) and those pre-Mario teams were horrible. This seasons team can out do those teams by dropping its 12th straight tonight and more importantly it's 11th straight at home (which I belive is a record) where they are and awful 7-17-3. They get the Bruins on top of all that who are heading in the opposite direction, winning 6 in a row. The line is fairly high and depending on where you look it's almost rediculous, but can any line be high enough here? I just can't give them hope of winning here, or any night for that matter this season. Reguardless of the line it may be safe to fade them the rest of the way, hard to belive Mario was part of this team early on.

Rex, it's hard for me to suggest anyone lay that kind of chalk in any game reguardless of who's playing, but this team has a shot at having the table run on them. Anything they had that even LOOKED like defense is gone with Steve McKenna going on the shelf the rest of the way. This team will get out-shot close to 2-1 every night and if I can dig up stats on time spent in the defensive zone it would probably be pornographic. There is just no hope at any position for anything good to possibly happen. It will take more than Fleury to right this ship in the coming years, much more.

Good luck on that 3-teamer.

Rex--Fleury is absolutly the real thing, people tend to UNDERVALUE confidence in a goatender, especially young goaltenders, and as soon as he can take the ice night after night knowing that 50 shots are not headed his way with half of them being from the slot he will be the kind of goalie that can win games by himself, which in the next 3-5 years he may have to if he still has that Penguin on his chest. He is technically sound, has great reflexes and a pretty decent grasp of the position, the biggest obstacle for him is rebounds, he gives up too many and leaves them laying around right in front of the crease, of course this is the product of all those shots flying his way, but he stops alot of shots, it's those second chances that are hurting him, again with a defense that could clear bodies out from the front of the net it would be a different story. Kid has a fantastic attitude as well, will be fun to watch the next 10 years or so.

Kickserv--Let's just be happy the two teams in question can't play each other, that would be hard to watch.
