i believe that when countries like France and Gemany were argueing to us about finally enforcing the U.N. mandates, Saddam was moving every thing he had. i find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have allowed the inspectors back in if he had destroyed them. why play chicken with the most powerful country in the world. now liberals will say that if the wmd's were moved to other countries that it was our fault.
Damned if you do, Damned if you don't. it must be the hardest job in the world to protect Americans.
Most of the world act's like extremely spoiled children, ( alot with homicidal tendencies). I would rather have an authority figure that you know would put a belt to your ass than a progressive, mushy, indecisive tree hugger, who will want to debate endlessly what America does wrong.
I'm sure we could do many things wrong, but WAKE UP! They freakin hate us. most of them won't be happy until we have mushroom clouds hanging over every major city.

Djv, thats my point. Why invade Iraq, if we knew the weapons were moved?

My problem with the whole mess is that we armed Iraq originally.

After the Iran Hostage crisis, we backed Iraq in their war with Iran. We gave them arms and technology. Our government encouraged US companies to supply Iraq with equipment to accomplish this.

I know this because I work for one of those companies. Before selling equipment to Iraq my company supplied information to our government about the possible uses (nuclear) of our equipment. Also, that we fellt that the Iraqi 's were going to use thisequipment for other purposes. The Iraqi's said they were going to use our equipment to make titanium protheis for soldiers wounded in the Iranian-Iraqi war. We knew better. Our government responded to us by encouraging us to sell to Iraq. Within 1 year we made 60 minutes and were accused of selling nuclear technology to Iraq. What a f*cking joke. Our government seized over 13 million dollars of ours in down payments plus the equipment. We had to sue. We won and recieved the quipment back (10 years later) and was able to re-sell it for 1/10th the value. the government still has our cash, even though we won it back in court. My company did not collect a bonus for over 5 years thanks to benevolence of our government.


Anyway I digress.....


Only after realizing that Saddam was much worse than the Iranians, do we decide that He is the enemy. Ok, so we invade Iraq to save Kuwait. After walking over the paper tiger repulican guard, in our deep concern for the Iraqi people we allow Saddam to stay in power. I'm sure the Kurds and the Shiites in southern Iraq will be eternally grateful.

Now 12 years later we are in Iraq again to save the oppressed Iraqi people from this horrible regime. Please spare me. Does anyone truly believe that we give a rats ass about the people of Iraq?


I wish that we did. But we don't. Why did Bush do this. We might never know for sure, but it wasn't for any altruistic reasons.

I supported our invasion in Afghanistan. Even with initial misgivings about invading Iraq, I supported the invasion and thought that our government must really know that this regime had WMD. But is become apparent to me that this was nothing more than a witch hunt. Again, if the WMD's were moved, we would have known about it before the invasion. We should have gone to where they (WMD) were/are.

I support our troops in Iraq. I hope they come home safe.

Fatboy you are corrct we helped arm him through out the 80's. We new he was gassing the Kurds and the Iran army and said nothing. Now we said oh my god look what he did. It's such BS.
Sooner or later this chit always catches up with us. We helped Bin Laden to. Then cut him off after the Russia/Afgan war. All we did was make him a bigger enemy. We kiss Suadis ass and we know the money flows through there. They undercut us.
