I'm on the Bone Marrow donor registry. It's easy to join now, they just send you a swab to take a sample of your cheek cells to send back. All the info here.

I'm friends with a surgeon on a transplant team. She told me once that it really doesn't matter what you put on your license. She said that if you have an organ that they need and your next of kin gives the thumbs up, they're taking the organ. She also said that when you check the "entire body" box, it's a pretty safe bet that you'll be a cadaver.
Here's the most interesting thing though; I used to be a smoker and I made a comment once that they wouldn't be able to use my lungs. She said that, unless there's permanent damage (cancer), they can take them out and clean them up like new. I asked if they could do it while you're still alive and she said that the process would kill you.

Grandparents here did it first, my parents followed suit and my wife and I also signed up. Great program and alot easier for the survivors.
Funerals are so barbaric..................
