asu plays "cute" football. when a team is by the goal line it has to smash it down the other teams throat. once the other team respects that, then the team could go to "cute" football once in awhile.

i wouldnt blame asu for not covering... 200 yards of penalties and my buddy (unc alumni) at the game said 75 percent of them were horsecrap.. and asu should have won 4 td's. that last td cost me the under... but thats my team and will take it.. sorry for the losing sides of this game

Listening to the game you have no idea about the flow and the plays. You guys got some crap calls as well you can't tell by listening over the radio. We lost this game, you guys didn't win it. We fumbled in the 1st half, would have been up 15 and u guys drove, that's a 14 point swing. Most of your penalties were legit, of course so were bad calls but it goes both ways.

The majority of ASU fans I was able to meet were great people, very nice. But I have to say I lost a lot of respect for your program. That was quite a win for you guys, but the way your players celebrated was dispicable. It's ok to celebrate, but for some of your players to stand in front of our student section and flick us off and give gang symbols is just a discredit to your program. That was a shitty way to end a great game between to hard playing teams.

Saint-

You can't really say that with a straight face...

ASU HAD 16 penalties for 153 yards.

N.C. had 3 for 22 yards. Not to mention the "lateral" call.

ASU outgained you guys by 270 yards. You can't say that N.C. gave ASU the game. ASU should have won by 30.

Whatever, a W is a W.

I didn't say the game was given to ASU, I said it was ours to win...we lost the game, ASU failed to beat us although they should have. ASU didn't lose as much from the penalties, their biggest problem was their red-zone offense. That is why they gained so much but the score didn't reflect it. They moved the ball downfield with ease but could not finish the job.

The fumble on the "lateral" I can't comment on because I wasn't on that part of the field, but I do know they blew a call when we did the same and they called it incomplete.

Stats are stats, unless you were at the game it doesn't matter. Numbers aren't the end-all-be-all, they can give an incomplete picture of a game. Like I said, they moved the ball, just not when it mattered.

"the bunker"
fellas

fellas

no sense arguing among yourselves....if the reffing was half as bad as marra and bg indicated, the real winners were the books......az st was, apparently, a huge public play........

i know these were acc refs....but,and i hate to say it,is it totally impossible for the refs to make themselves a few bucks?....i mean,if it was as blatant as indicated here....

i know that`s a taboo thing to say on forums....it`s probably just a case of some strong homer-itis from an acc crew.....but,they saw fit to let az st get the win....a well placed penalty on the last drive could have easily screwed az st,if the crew wanted the acc win....

just some conjecture....not screaming fix.....apparently az st was their own worst enemy....

g.l. the rest of the day,gents....

do not throw stones from glass houses

do not throw stones from glass houses

what kind of character does carolina show when a player in the ncaas accuses utah player of spitting and using racial slur.the same player jumps on the scorer table at the buzzer and grabs his nuts in front of the other fans, the basketball star players run off the coach last year.carolina is not perfect.give the team a break they made a great comeback against the worst run football program with the biggest fan base in america.carolina should get a coach.thats right they tried but beamer was too smart.should have kept crum years ago.

lowell i never said our players are perfect, i was reflecting how i was impressed with the ASU fans i spoke with but dissapointed with their players actions.

As far as players running out a coach, your reference to what happend with Matt Doherty is from a casual fan's perspective with little knowledge of the true facts. You have no idea what he did behind closed doors, things that have no place in any sport and should get any man fired. I was an all-american athlete at Carolina and have a much different perspective about everything, I know way more about what goes on in the program so please don't preach to me about unc or any of our teams. What people read in the paper is about 25% of what really happens in any college program.

I knew when the line went up to 8 and the way the first half was officiated we were in big trouble. I did not give up in the 3rd quarter rather saw the writing on the wall. I am not saying this game was officiated the way it was because of all the money on asu you never know. Saint the reason why the redzone offense was so bad is if you were paying attention to the game asu got inside the 8 yard line and four times they were flagged. Twice from the two yard line for holding. With carolinas horrible d without those penalties they would have punched it in easily. They once overcame a penalty and got seven, but it is not easy for any team to do. No way should the penalties be that one sided. When in the hell do you see a holding penalty on the defense team on a freakin punt to give the punting team a first down. I can not remember a game in my lifetime where that was called. I knew from the first half the calls that were made including the lateral that the game looked awful fishy. How many times have you ever seen a team dominant the yardage rushing and passing and win the fuc$$$$ all important turnover battle and need a miracle to get a win. It just does not happen. Anyone looking at the stats and more importantly the turnover battle would think this was a 3 to four td blowout. Also, their were no great special teams play or blocked punts. How in the hell from all this did unc damn near win? THE OFFICIALS BOTTOM LINE:thefinger
