Well thank you VT offensive coordinator for yet another stellar performance with the offensive game plan. You have one of the most electric QB athletes in college and you do not use any bootlegs and continue ti slam it up the gut when Stanford continued to committ linebackers in the 3 and 4 gaps. Kudos, how can he still be there? I mean say what you want and the game got out of hand quick but VT held Stanford in the first half and the offense did nothing to help. Ok screw that game. I am breaking a gambling law and going outside my comfort zone of allowable loses. But what can I say I am Irish and if it's not worth doing then after a few drinks I'll do it anyway.
Mallatt vs Pryor, SEC vs Big 10 and yet another game where some distractions might be involved. Ohio st is a good team BUT I feel they are a little overrated. They have a good win over Iowa. And the only other tough game was a loss to wisky. Arkansas has wins against Texas A&M, Miss st, LSU had a 4 point loss to Bama but were winning that for the majority. Then there is the auburn game, Arkansas score in the fourties and they have a good lead and mallett gets knocked out and then it was turn over central and auburn runs past them. Personally looking at that I see sic teams with Jan 1st or later. Ohio state two teams on that list both of them lost and Michigan should not have been there. Arky won their last six games, while words of Tressel retiring, players having to committ to next year or they have to sit out. Just some distractions that are not needed. Now I do not think Ohio state has seen an offense this talented passing the ball. The Ohio st defense allows 94 yards per game rushing and 156 passing. That's great and all but Michigan had 169 passing and 182 rushing, wisky had 152 passing and 184 rushing, Miami had 232 passing and 120 rushing and Iowa had 195 passing and 81 rushing. Now that Iowa game is impressive but the other games show this team gives up yards passing and running. I bring that up because I think Arkansas is the more dangerous offense. I am going to say this, Arkansas will give up running plays they give up a lot of rushing yards but I think they can get a few stops if they committ just to the run after all they did limit LSU but didn't stop anyone. I do not think Ohio state cannot stop the arkansas pass attack. 357 vs Bama, 262 vs Miss st, 320 vs LSU, 303 vs south Carolina and 428 vs Auburn. I also like the arky secondary, they do rank 16th in NCAA. I learned a lot from the VT game. I think a well oiled offense with a pro prospect QB will move the ball more efficiently than a running attack with a noble QB that is not the strongest reading coverage. Again I think the conference means nothing, I am looking at teams they played and what those teams have done and the sec teams have just looked more impressive which gives that division a little more clout. The distractions interest me because there are rumblings within the team that the guys that "gave their word" about coming back may have said something about the draft. At least two of them. So internally they might have issues with players not standing by their word while the coach is rumored to be thinking about hanging up the sweater vest. Should be a great game but I like the offense of arkansas, they have started to get some running back production and they will spread the offense out and pass all over them. Remember Ohio st did limit the Oregon ducks high octane offense last season. The difference in my mind mallet vs masoli bug difference and should result in a more favorable outcome. Remember before last year there wad Ohio st vs LSU and vs Florida and both were blow outs and both were and issue of speedyhat Ohio st could not handle. I will say that trend continues behind these wide receivers.
Arkansas (+3) over Ohio State
Cheers
