Doesn't that seem a little high? I have played under 54 a while ago, but the more and more I look, the more I second guess it.....why isn't it 44-45 with arky losing their qb and having to start a frosh at qb vs the nastiest defensive in the country for the past 5 years.....bama isn't a offensive powerhouse either....and arky d is underrated....

I just am feeling like vegas wanted a lot of action on the under by setting it at this number....

And it looks like they are getting it....lots of posters on under...haven't seen one on the over...

Just something to think about....think I'm buying out....

Addict...I do not have an opinion either way on the total, but I will give you my thoughts as to why it is where it is. Arkansas's defense is not under rated.....they are flat out terrible....Petrino never recruits defensive talent, he focuses on offense and uses the philosophy he will out score you.....so I think that vegas feels as if Bama will score at will and they figure Arky will put up some points....Heat the field drains really well and is artificial so that should not b a factor.....again no opinion at the moment either way just giving you my perspective

Thanks for the insight Hog! I will say that despite artificial turf and drainage systems, I still feel that an abundance of rain plays a major roll. The ball is wet, which can wreak havoc on the QB/C exchange as well as throwing the ball. Having played for years on articial turf, I can tell you that although the new turfs and their sandlike mixtures resemble a true grass surface, when they get wet they are still fairly slippery. A wet ball being thrown through the air also has a tendency to stay in the air a bit longer.....quack, quack....with all that said, I value your opinion, but I think Arkansas has to slow the pace down, run the ball more and limit mistakes. John L. Smith will be conservative in this one.
