Army,Navy and Air force can all play..Week 6

Sec of Defense has announced that the service academies can play despite govt. shutdown...But did you read about the Coast Guard Academy...they can play but the coaches and players have to line the fields and prepare the game themselves...

WKU -7 over UL Monroe **
Without UL's Browning who last year passed for 300 yds and 4 td's in 1 pt OT loss is out.UL has been getting beat up pretty bad....vs OU and Baylor the combined score was 104-7...throw in Tulane last week 31-14..that's 135-21..they did beat Wake by 2...WKU has the leading rusher in the nation in Andrews...on national TV WKU lets him go..WKU's qb Doughty has 4 td's and 9 ints but 5 of those were against Tenn....think Andrews will be tough to stop..

Marshall -14 over Tex San Antonio
Tulane +3 over North Texas
Arkansas +11 over Florida
Rice +9.5 over Tulsa

Nevada +5.5 over San Diego St ***
Both teams have lost to the "big boys" Nev-UCLA-Fl St...Aztecs Ohio St-Oregon St..Nev last week beat Air Force 45-42 and we know AF isn't to good...but SD beat New Mex St 26-16..they were down at the half 16-5....last yr SD won 39-38 despite Nev leading thru out the game.Nev out gained them by 100 total yds..Nev Qb Fajardo can throw and run..did it last yr in that game..also Nev had 10 penalties for over 90 yds..Nev has its top wr back Wimberly who had 10 receptions-172 yds and 2 td's...like the Wolf Pack tonite with Fajardo being a dual threat and maybe getting some revenge from last year.

Last nite watched the Texas game...they are bad...feel bad for Iowa St on the fumble but the Longhorns are hurting...I never saw so many wide open seams esp for the qb.. McCoy had wide open wr's but he can't pass.Next week not sure what the OU-Texas line will be but OU wins by 40....watched Rhodes press conference...that was great but coach....your defensive backs had about 5 or 6 pass interference calls that gave Texas 1st downs..that was there only way of getting 1st downs...there were some "homer" Texas calls esp at the end, but on those interference ones they mugged the Texas wr's....yell at your secondary coach too...

OU - TX my guess on the line is -11.5, game of the year line before the season started it was TX-3

I played a couple years of club football in college and we had to line the field ourselves....lol

Actually played on some colleges actual game fields or alternate fields...but our home games were at a local high school's practice field...but yeah, we had to line it. Also had to pay dues and do fund raising but it was all a lot of fun and I miss it to this day!

Good luck Box. Was loving Clemson but have switched and took Syracuse +14...for some reason thought Clemson was at home. Anyway, should be a fun day of football!!

Zona St -5.5 Over Notre Dame ******
Think the Sun Devils give ND a major problem today.ND coming off a tough,physical loss to OU will have tough time vs Zona.ND offense with Rees at the helm is just avg. ND offense will have a tough time vs Zona's quicker and more athletic defense...but the main problem for the Irish is stopping Kelly who has 1,300 yds passing and Grice who can run and catch.ND will be chasing him all day.Throw in Wr Strong and a few others...game is being played in Texas...ND defense with Nix and Tuitt won't be a factor..Zona St wins by 3 td's...

Boston College -11.5 over Army ***
BC stopped Fl St run but not their passing game..BC held FSU to 1 yd in 1st qrt in rushing...Army passed for 14 total yds vs win over La Tech..BC lost last yr to Army 34-31.BC qb Rettig was sacked 5 times...he had 4 td's vs Fl St....Bc's Williams is a top rb who should have a big day vs the Army D{ last yr he had 200 yds rushing}....think BC wins this by 2 td's..Army defense is still slow and BC has to many home run hitters..BC will put 11 guys in the box and Army still can't pass...

Ball St +5 over Virginia **
Vir defense is solid but offense isn't to good..Ball despite leading North Texas by 21 blew the lead and game..Like Wenning at qb with Edwards and Blankinship at rb..Snead,Smith and co are small but quick..

Miami -5.5 over Geo Tech ***
Canes can run and pass...Morris is the real deal and a dual threat...Duke isn't to bad either..Tech stopped Tech's run game last week...Think canes can almost to the same...Canes played no one except Florida...held them to 16 pts...canes win by at least a Td...

Clemson -13.5 over Cuse ****
The dome will be packed where cuse last year beat Bridgewater and Gino...a graveyard for good qb's..but Cuse beat up Wagner and Tulane and lost to Northwestern and Penn St so far...Cuse defense is predicated on blitz and attacking...but Boyd can get rid of the ball a lot faster then Gino and Bridgewater with his quick passes...plus he can run a lot better then those guys..Watkins is tough for any defense to stop..Tiger defense is tough esp on 3rd downs...they can stop anybody. Cuse's one big weapon is Williams at rb...think the Dome effects the tigers for awhile..and then let Boyd quiet it down a little..

Marshall -14 over UT-San Antonio ****
Houston won big last week over UT...Cato is a big time qb having an avg year...its homecoming and think they will put some big numbers up..Marshall can run and pass...UT has Soza who is a dual threat but doesn't have enough around him.

Tulane +3 over North Texas **
North Texas on the road and giving up points...that is hard to believe...I know NT played Georgia tough but the score really wasn't that close...Geo had over 600 yds of offense.. a blocked punt and run back gave NT 14 pts..just enough to cover..Nt has no running game.. Thompson is so inconsistent at Qb..Tulane beat up a bad UL monroe team last week. Darko can run and Montana has DNA..small play..North Texas wins by 1..

Oregon -39 over Colorado ***
Not getting off the" Oregon "trail"...am 3-0 playing them..D'anthony not playing..as long as Mariota plays they will pad his numbers for Heisman consideration...last year the line was -47...and Oregon won 70-14..covered by 9...39 pts sound like a walk in the park...

Ark +12.5 over Florida **
Florida defense is good but with Allen back and his 2 rb's think the hogs can keep this close.

Rice +3 over Tulsa ***
Think the Owls give a terrible Tulsa team a game...more balance..

Stanford -7 over Wash ***
Close game but in the end the Cards are better overall...

Baylor -28 over WV ***
Bears are loaded..last yrs game was unreal...but Petty and the Heartbreakers with Seacruise will pad those numbers..last yr Gino clinched the Heisman due to last yrs game..I forgot his numbers but they were unreal in a 70-63 win...payback today in Waco...WV heads are big in upset ovr Ok St... swollen heads disappear today in Baylor blowout...

Good write ups. Was on the fence about my BC and Arky picks, but you convinced me I'm on the right side. I'll be on those two along with some others you have here.

I was leaning UTSA and N TX, but you made some valid points. I'll keep looking at those two before pulling the trigger.

ECU-7.5 over Mid Tenn ***
ECU just destroyed NC last week...55-31..Carden was 32-47 for just under 400 yds,3 td's.Cooper got his running game back and Hardy gets doubled team where ever he goes.He is the best wr in the conf..Carden the best qb,two of the best Ol and the two best Lb's...ECU's 15-10 loss to Vir Tech means a little more now. MTenn has Kilgore at qb but not enough offense to stay with the Pirates...forgot this game
