Navy -4.5 over Army ***
My all time favorite game to capp.....lost last year when Navy had the great team,Reynolds one of the best offenses in the country.....loaded and heavy favorite to blow Army away...then Armys qb Bradshaw gets hurt and they bring in freshman Carter...and he almost's beats Navy by himself....Army does a trick halfback option at the 10-20 yd line down 21-17....with seconds to go....doesn't work Navy wins but doesn't cover...so last yr Navy loaded with talent and just pulls out a win....this year Navy is deep, deep trouble.. Top qb out,top rb out 2 def starters hurt'in from last weeks Temple game..3rd string qb Abey starting...this will be the 1st time Navy starts a rookie qb in the game...both teams are no 2 and 3 in the nation in rushing yds avg 327 and 328...Army has had 2 weeks off and Navy had a tough an physical game vs Temple.. Army beat Temple way back and its been mentioned about 20 times...but people forget Temples star rb Thomas did not play in that game...
Army's qb is so inconsistent Bradshaw...his passes are like punts that you can fair catch....his option is good and he has cut out on all the fumbles because Army uses its fullbacks more then the half backs pitch...Army fb Davidson 1st half of season was unstoppable..but teams figured that out after 6 games.. North Texas who beat Army stacked him up and was not a factor at all...Armys backs aren't speedsters....on the outside...they do run inside good.. Army D has been decent..King is awesome inside....kicking game is terrible...if you cross the street at Army O'Niell HS is right next door..they have a better kicker....Navy has a solid OL,good wr's that block better then some O-lineman...they do have some good fullbacks and think this 3rd string frosh will play be able to move the ball.....this game is all about time of possession...both def backfields are questionable..Navy starts one frosh and Army starts 2...
For the 1st time in years Army has the advantage yet are still underdogs....but I think despite Navy's problems they have the better coach and overall the better team....these seniors at Navy do not want to be the team that broke the streak.....and a final note

Not sure if anyone saw the youtube Army motivational movie about the Army-Navy game.....maybe someone can post it here....Its pretty powerful with General D. Eisenhower speaking before the D-day invasion and putting current Armys players in the backround posing...It moved me and it is quite powerful.....until the Navy pointed out after the video was released showing the beachhead at Normandy...how the hell did you think those troops landing on the beach got there....the Navy.....I heard the Navy made a rebuttal video but didn't see it...

Anyway its a great game .....although not a big play because if Bradshaw gets hurt Carter might come in because he can pass......Gl today

Reading it I thought you would go with Army. I woke up this morning and thought 2 things. Whatever Box is on for the Army Navy game I am on. Whatever Phil Steele has for the FCS games I am on.

Here's to hoping both work :toast:

wow.. Navy Qb is a deer in headlights....has no touch what so ever....Army is really up...and you can see the Temple game must have had a bigger impact on them... Garry D the announcer said it right..."looks like Navy is playing in Mud....Monken has gone outside with Walker getting the ball the ball...Navy has no answer..so doing something at the half that I hate doing...

Army +3 ****
Now watch Navy come out smoking.....Army had a great 1st half attacking Navy...Navy has 1 1st down ..doing a Benedict Arnold...Go Army

this has been a fun game to watch. Navy's defense has been the real surprise.. yes they would struggle on offense, but really suprising to see army run all over them at will like this.
but.. go navy, beat army.
