That is ****ing redicuolous, just heard it on Fox now. I can't believe it, why not just take the Indiana franchise away while your at it. I hope there is some punishment for the asshole fans involved. I am sure the players union will appeal this one.

Fans should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, but I have no problem with the length of these suspensions.

Going into the stands (and apparently punching fans who had nothing to do with the beer throwing) is absolutely inexcusable.

What really sucks is if you are a season ticket holder is that Indy had a shot at going all the way this year and now probably will not make the playoffs.. What do you do if you have season tickets there useless now. The laywers are going toeat this up.

Also what is going to happen when Detroit comes to town. Indy goes to Detroit and the season is all shot to hell. Can you say payback.

Just some ramblimg thoughts

That is weak and the players association will step up and appeal that.
Artest is a punk and could use some more anger management.
Let the Ron Artest singing tour begin.
Ron will be coming to a club near you soon.

im suprised this kinda stuff doesnt happen more often and i agree with the suspensions.

artest should be singing his rap crap in jail while hes gettin gang raped.

Disagree respectfully with you guys. I thought if anything, the suspension of 6 games of Ben Wallace was too harsh. You have to look at it with other suspensions and similar instances. Yeah, he had what was certainly a flagrant foul on Artest. If nothing else happened after this he would have gotten a fine maybe, and MAYBE a 2 game suspension. He had nothing to do with what happened afterward. I could be wrong, and maybe I am, but I don't think he did much of anything in the aftermath. I only saw it a few times, but I don't remember big ben throwing punches or going in the stands. correct me if I'm wrong. I personally am not a Ben Wallace fan, but if nothing happened after the flagrant foul, no one would even be talking about it. Those little shoves happen all the time in the nba and you hear little about them. I don't think becuase the rest of the hotheads and the fans got involved he is to blame. But thats just my 2 cents

How does Ben Wallace only get 6 games??????

Everyone else got what they deserved!!!!!!!!

My breakdown............

1st was the foul flagrant (don't believe it was)???

2nd Big Ben started all this chit by pushing Artest (into the throat no less) Let the Refs sort out the foul........

3rd Artest is an asshole but backed away from the fight

4th Wallace kept the situation going by yelling at the refs and the Pacer players.

5th Wallace tossed a towel at the Pacer palyers (could have walked away

6th Artest biggest mistake (pre-fans) was laying on the scorers table like an ass............

7th once the cup was tossed on Artest, all players got what they deserved

Sterns said he was going to treat players harher that instagated the situation.................Well BIG GUY Ben Wallace was right up there, if it wasn't for his actions things wouldn't have gotten out of hand IMHO..............

So going forward if u start a fight, 6games........... Nice Sterns, that'll solve everything.............Wallace should have gotten 20+ GAMES TOO........... U want to make a statement, make it to cover everything Dave!

Artest deserves to be suspended more than anyone but the entire season? Come on, 20 to 30 games max, Stephen Jackson deserves 15 to 20 games with Jermaine about the same....this is ludicrous. As far as Ben Wallace he got about what he deserved, after a hard questionable foul (no flagrant was called) he went nuts and incited the fans by throwing stuff at Artest. Artest and Jackson should have never gone in the stands but if someone came up to you and threw beer/ice/cups at you, what would you do? Not trying to defend Artest because he deserves to be suspended for a lengthy period of time but the entire season, I don't think so. Just my 2 cents. Does anyone know if there is recourse for the players as far as appealing the decision handed down?

HE got plenty of time to work on his music now.

You guys don't see much of me in here, the NBA lost me after MJ and Larry.

Nothing but Arrogance and they have lost the mature sports audience IMHO.

BTW why was this mook laying on that table what was it the scorers table ?

An official worth his salt would have SHIPPED and let him watch the rest of the game FBS(from behind the seats)

Raymond you have helped me when I coattailed on many occasions,

BUT all I have to say is:

Let them walk what will that prove ?

No NBA IN INDY this year?

Pacer fans care, the rest of us don't

We have no NHL in CBUS this year. Life goes on.

IF they walk, so long ! I will even fire up a few verses of the "RAWHIDE" theme song :

Rolling, rolling. rolling, keep those doggies moving Rawhide.

Maybe Artest can jam a little rap jive into this tune he sure will have the time.

IMO Jackson and O'neil got off light. Jackson was swinging at anything that moved and if O'nei didn't slip, he would have killed that guy.

These guys are world class athletes and are superior in size and strength, they can't be running into the stands throwing punches UNLESS THEIR FAMILIES ARE IN TROUBLE. Artest got what he deserved and so didn't wallace.

I hate the NBA, the majority of the players suck compared to years past and there are alot of punks. JMO

well ill tell you what you do if your an average american and this happens at the bar.

if you get a beer poured on you or in your face, you do not have free reign to start throwing haymakers. the average joe gets an assault charge if he retailiates. so how can you say artest was even remotely in the clear for doing that.

does it suck that he got a beer tossed on him? hell yeah. as a man, its embarrassing. but a plastic beer that splashes on you is not 'imminent danger' and anyone who did what artest and jackson did would be in jail facing an assault charge.

im not one of those guys that is anti-nba either. i think artest and oneal are great players. but facts are facts. you cant do that shit and expect to get away with it. frankly, suspensions were correctly assessed.
