SEATTLE MARINERS +100 - The A?s have had a tendency of starting out slow and then heating up after the All-Star break the last few years, and they appear to be following that pattern again this season. Oakland is just 2-5 on the road, as they have now lost 5 games in a row on their current road trip. While I am very high on Lilly?s ability, I don?t think that he has done enough to be favored on the road in this spot. He was not particularly sharp in his last start at Texas, failing to hold a 4-0 lead while allowing 4 earned runs and 10 Men on Base in 6.1 innings. Franklin is coming off of a Quality Start vs. Anaheim, albeit in a 3-0 loss. He had quietly done a solid job since joining the starting rotation last season, recording 7 Quality Starts out of 10 Major League starts. The Mariners have also had a clear edge in the bullpen to this point, as their pen has posted a group ERA of 1.40 with an outstanding ratio of 0.91 in 45.0 innings, compared to Oakland?s bullpen ERA of 4.67 in 34.2 innings.
