Holy cow over 20 countirs have Large to Huge demostrations aginst Iraq war. Actuley many were against our governments policy and how they See Bushs thirst for war. Not my words those of some folks from England & Italy. Other places were alittle nicer. They just want America to stop trying to run the world. Others stayed to the point about Iraq. Many feal a few more inspectors and with Iraq starting to open more. That war to keep Iraq in check is not needed. Even over 50000 in S Korea marched. I have news for them. They better just worry about whats north of there border and not worry about Iraq. But still I do hate to see so many countries pissed off at us. It's just the stuff these Hate Groups like to use for reasons to attack other sites in America. I dont know how many of you saw the UN meeting yesterday. But they made C, Powel looks as bad as possiable and dam near called Bush a lier. Starting to look like we will dam near go it alone. If we go at all. England will help but Tony Blair will never get re-elected due to it. Kind of Sad the postition the world is placing us in.

You know, growing up you believe the God of your Parents is the true God and the Country you live in is the best country in the world. Most of our media is pro US and tells the story of how bad Saddam is to his people. Times like this makes one sit back and think.
"Who are we?" Are we truly the "World's Policemen"? or are we really interested in controlling the oil fields? If we are the Police what gives us the right? Our History books critisize the attacks other countries have made to "prevent future attacks".

yep....this is the gratitude we get....lets pull out all forms of aid and give these countries a go.....

No American will ever forget the sight of those planes ramming those buildings or the total horror and the tears spent listening to those last desperate cell phone messages left by the victems who only crime was that they went to work that horrible day.
Because those images and those feelings burn so deep in me I want to be sure that we get the right guys. Sure, Hussain is a no good. We knew that when he took power, and we knew that when we kept him in power. But is he the guy we should be after right now? How much of our resources are going to be used trying to keep that country stable after we bomb the Hell out of them?

Scott Not Libya or Syria they want nothing to do with us should we fine any of WMD from Iraq hid there. Now Iran I would believe that and we may need to go there next when done with Iraq. That is why I say pick the right people and country for payback. This is simliar to what StevieD said above. We start and fine we have to go on and on. It not only can help break us. But it does not leave much for home land security. I know we may need to get to Iraq. Im not sure if Iraq should be next. Im still pissed at Suadi and Iran. They both had more to do with 9/11 then Iraq.

I agree with most of what has been said in this thread. First off, we need to understand that most of the people / countries in the world do not like us. For the same reason everyone hates the Yankees and used to hate the Dallas Cowboys. They view Americans as rude, wasteful, crude, boastful, any number of poor qualities. As a nation, we need to get over it. Who really gives a crap if France doesn't like us? I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I'm tired of spending our tax dollars to give aid to people who would rather see us dead. Or "loan" countries money and then forgive the loan. Why? It doesn't get us anywhere. We can not adopt an isolationist program and remove ourselves from the world but we can damn well be more frugal in terms of the aid we provide, who we consider friends, who we let settle in our country. It is an opportunity and a privilege to be granted access to America. Immigrants now come to the States and abuse the privileges we provide. They do not pay taxes. They receive beneficial programs. We pay for this stuff.
The US needs to be active in the world economy and also needs to be active in policing the world's neighborhood. We are the only country who can.
I hate the waste in the government. I despise politicians. However, we live in the best country that has ever been on this planet and I am proud to be an American. One of the reasons America is so great is that we can agree to disagree. I do not support all of my government's decisions yet when American citizens are threatened, I am 100% behind my President. Saddam should have been disarmed 7 years ago but our good friend Billy Clinton was too busy in the Oval Office. Saddam has violated 17 UN sanctions that were imposed after the Gulf War. We agreed to those sanctions and stopped the assault and the bombings. One single violation is cause for resumption of the assault. I did say resumption. We are not planning a pre-emptive first strike. Under the articles Iraq agreed to, this is merely a continuation of the Gulf War. Why would Saddam say he will use chemical weapons against our troops and then tell the UN he doesn't have chemical weapons? Our government has shown remarkable restraint in not turning Iraq, Iran and a host of other Middle-Eastern nations into a vast wasteland.
Protesters have the right to protest. God bless this country for that. I just see them as narrow-minded and short-sighted. The Hollywood types who slam Bush and the adminsitration? they can leave whenever they want. I am done with Hollywood and I am done with their movies. **** them. They have no idea what real life is.
