I am baffled as to what this team is trying to do.
They don't have enough money to land a big player and they don't have enough talent to be contenders so why keep getting 2nd rate players??

Brett Myers is a nice addition to a team that is looking for a 3rd or 4th starter but only if that team can contend.

They have spent the following this off season:
1 year $4.5M to Pedro Feliz (former Phillie)
3 year $15M to Lyon to be closer.
1 year $5M with option to Myers.

They baffle me as they wouldn't give Latroy Hawkins(1.71 era last yr) 2 yrs for $7M, but give Lyon 3/$15???

Then sign a 3B they didn't need and a pitcher in Myers who is nice but could of got a better starter than Myers with the Myers/Feliz cash.

Ed Wade is a disaster. Try signing someone that you didn't have in Philly.

This guy is a Class A douchebag also. Hate having guys like this on my team.

I don't care much for the Astros other moves, but Myers is a stud. He could really produce. If he is right between the ears you could move him at the deadline for some quality prospects after he gives you 100+ innings before the July 31st deadline

Lee has a no trade and nobody and I MEAN NOBODY wants his contract.

Carlos Lee, Astros. Six years, $100MM ($16.66MM per year). Signed in November of 2006. This backloaded deal pays Lee $18.5MM per year over the last four years. We've yet to see the worst of it.

Berkman is in final year of a deal that gives him $14M with a team option that I doubt they exercise next year.

Maybe Berkman gets traded at the trade deadline for some young pitchers:shrug:

I want young pitchers to come here, they missed their opportunity to trade Oswalt a few years ago, we need wholesale changes.

I am ready for baseball season to start:shrug:
