They got the mojo working right now so at 9/1, I think that is a whopping price!
Remember they started off 15-30 after 45 games.

ASTROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ASTROS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I GOT THEM AT 75/1 JUST TO WIN THE PENNANT. LOOKING TO HEDGE WITH STL. I STAND TO WIN $1500 SO PROBABLY BUY BACK HALF. I SAW -160. ANYONE THINK THAT LINE WILL COME DOWN? LOOKS LIKE I WOULD HAVE TO LAY $800 TO WIN $500. HOU WINS I GET $700 STL WINS I GET $500. WHAT DO YOU THINK? THERE REALLY ARE ALOT OF POSSIBILITIES. ONE GUY TOLD ME TO WAIT A COUPLE OF GAMES TO SEE WHAT THE ASTROS DO. BUT I WANT TO COME AWAY WITH SOMETHING. I THINK STL WILL WIN AND THATS WHY THE HEDGE. THANX

i would hedge, im thinking the cards take it in 6, but hou has the pitching edge and stl could be a little rusty with the long layoff. good luck with whatever you do though.

Maverick;

I got 9/1 on the Astros on before the playoffs started (Oct 4). I just thought and still do, that the WS rings will go to the Cardinals (a measly 3/1) or the Astros with an outside chance going to the WhiteSox. Given the prices and recent form, it seemed like a no-brainer. Guess we'll know in about 10 days.

Cards will shut down the Astros anemic hitting.

Cards in 5.

Too much firepower and pitching staffs are similar.

So. Cal
pitching staffs are not similar:

k's
hou is 3rd
stl 13th

ba agst:
hou 1st
stl 6th

era
stl 1st
hou 2nd

k vs w
hou 1st
stl 3rd

hr allowed

hou allowed 4 more but in a more homer friendly park

houston has a better staff....plus stl is without their top rh set-up man

Next stop.....Chicago. Two things the playoffs have proven so far;

1st; It is not a myth....pitching does win!!!

2nd; It sure helps when umpires are on your side! I can't believe the number of bad calls that helped determine the league winners! I mean these guys were almost as bad as World Cup Soccer referees.......I know that's a low blow but I'm sure there are a lot of pissed off people out there!

For the World Series, I wanted to hedge on the ChiSox but I thought they would be about even money. I know they are only slight favourites but the true odds would have the Astros slight favourites. Well I have until Saturday to decide and I think the prices will come closer to pick'em by then.

The scariest man in this whole playoffs is not a pitcher. It's Joe Crede. A $400,000 player....he is Mr. Clutch and will probably win at least 1 game on his own.

Astros in 6.....or less I hope!

I guess I should sell everything I own and bet my life savings on the White Sox! I didn't realize the Astros couldn't win!!!!

Thanks for the heads up.
