First Round matchups for 18 holes only --

One Unit each :

8:04 - Carl Pettersson over Geoff Ogilvy @ - 125. Lost by 2.
Up by 1 with 2 to go, thought at least a push.

8:15 - Nick Watney over Gary Woodland @ - 145. Lost by 1.
Frustrating one stroke loss.

Whole Tournament matchups for 72 holes --

One and a Half Units each :

Kevin Streelman over Gary Woodland @ - 110. Won by 6.

Charlie Wi over Ryuji Imada @ - 120. Lost by 3.
Up by 7 after Rd 3 and still lose.

Vijay Singh over Geoff Ogilvy @ - 125. Lost on withdrawal while leading.

Can't believe Vijay Singh withdrew from the AT&T National because of a bad back. He was 2-under-par after 36-holes and was only five strokes behind KJ Choi and only three strokes out of second place at the time of his withdrawal.
More importantly, in my 72 hole matchup, he was four strokes ahead of Geoff Ogilvy, who only made the cut by two strokes

One Unit each :

Marc Leishman over Pat Perez @ + 135. Lost (by 8) on cut.
(I guess there was a reason he was + 135. lol.)

Nick Watney over Hunter Mahan @ - 135. Won by 12.

Carl Pettersson over Sean O'Hair @ - 175. Won (by 4) on cut.

Round 1 play (2pts):

Ryan Moore to beat Hunter Mahan -110 @ 5Dimes [also available @ SkyBet, Stan James, Bet365 and Boyle Sports]
Backing Moore to repeat on a course where he has played well in the past - 11th and 2nd in the last two years here. However, it is his confidence in his game in interview that is striking - he was pleased that he finished 2nd last week, but he pointed out that he had only missed one cut all year and had been consistently getting himself into good positions each week, but falling back over the weekend. A look at his last 16 strokeplay events does show that he has finished the 1st round in the top-15 on nine occasions (a 56% success rate) and he is 15/16 in finishing the 1st round in the top-50 and 15/16 in finishing the 2nd round in the top-50. He clearly has every reason to be confident that his form will continue this week. Just for comparison, Mahan has finished 11 of his last 16 strokeplay events in the top-50 after round 1 and just 4 of 16 in the top-15.

[unofficial rd1 system plays: Rose tb Scott -110; Van Pelt tb Simpson -105; O'Hair tb Kim -102; Furyk tb Choi +115; Holmes tb Woodland -105; Furyk tb Simpson +125]

Whole Tournament matchups for 72 holes --

(additional matchups for the afternoon groupings)

One Unit each :

Jim Fuyrk over K.J. Choi @ + 115. Lost (by 15) on cut.

Justin Rose over K.J. Choi @ - 105. Lost by 7.

Ryan Moore over Hunter Mahan @ - 120. Lost by 7.

Rickie Fowler over Adam Scott @ - 125. Lost by 4.

I rarely oppose KJ and certainly should not have this week.

Questioning why I added these matches after I already had a half dozen tourney matches set up earlier in the day.

Round 2 play (4pts):

Patrick Cantlay to beat Chris Kirk -145 @ 5Dimes
Not only backing Cantlay because of the amateur's top-25 finishes in the last two weeks and his 60 in hte 2nd round last week, but also opposing Kirk who looks set to miss the cut for he seventh time in his last eight starts. He may currently lies in 29th position, but he had been in higher post-rd1 positions in two of his last three starts, but still missed the cut anyway. In such a poor run of form, he should struggle to score well today unlike Cantlay who continues to impress.

[unofficial rd2 system plays: Choi tb Scott +105; Rose tb Scott +125; Howell tb Scott -120; Singh tb Gay -105; Fowler tb Scott -111; Baas B tb Pettersson -110; Simpson tb Fowler +100; Watney tb Wilson -189]

Round 3 play (2pts):

Vijay Singh to beat Spencer Levin +101 @ Pinnacle [available generally]
Levin may be the better player in 2011, but this is clearly a course that suits Vijay. He has played in three of the four years and finished in the top-15 every time - 12th, 7th and 9th. He is currently tied with Levin 13th place so looks set for yet another top-15 finish at Aronimink. These appear decent odds for him to continue being conpetitive on this course.

[unofficial rd3 system play: Holmes tb Woodland +120]
