1st race: Nos. 5 and 6 are tied for top rated. Keying on no. 5 - has Mouch who is on his game here at A.C, good ITM turf record for the horse, and unlike so many others that race here -> You don't have to wonder how a long layoff will affect her. There's more that I like about this one as well.
Tries and zacks for me (only takes one good exotic to make me a winner for this A.C. meet) -> 5/6,7,8/1A,5,6,7,8 (ONE stinkin dollar ticks, ALWAYS, any track, for tries.) ... and ... zacks ($2 or more ticks) 6,7,8, OVER no. 5

2nd :VERLY, VERLY INTERLESTING WACE! IF Ferrer, who happens to always gets extra attention from me at any track, doesn't bring the favorite home then - this race should really light up the results board. BIG TIME! I'd LUV to spread aroundf a hundred bucks on exotics in this race, but that's suicide, ESP. for me on account of a poor record when I go overboard. Damn.
Gonna bet two horses in here that represent PLENTY of value.. nos. 7 and 8. Here's the exactas I got written down.... 7,8 top/bot 2,3,5,6. Either I play those or play BOTH the 7 and the 8 straight (maybe across?) kinda heavy.
That there, no. 7 is really of interest. Problem is there's always qustions to ask about almost every horse that runs at this place,"Will this Grade 2,3 competitor run like he did 3000+ miles away in sunny Cal. last year? If he does, he wins. Oh, and what about the vacation he just took? Nobody can answer these questions. Ooops, one mo - "How will he do on the turf?". Well, his breeding sez, "Just fine" so that might help. Sometimes I wonder why I decided to visit (through my cable modem) this track this year.
The no. 8? I think it's always worthwhile to give a "Danzig" hoss a good, long look when on the turf. There's more than just that to like about this horse too. You know, like 10/1 or higher f'rinstance.

4th: Ratings are all pretty close and that indicates a price and very competitive race. You know, a typical A.C. :00011 . Ratings are 4-6-5. No. 6, Sister's Friend, is the "now" horse who won 2 in a row in convincing style in it's last 2 races. I don't know about this one winning no. 3 in a row on a foreign track and on the turf... gonna throw this one out.
I'm thinking no. 1 with good early speed from the rail in this two turner, no. 4 with good jockey and a win at A.C., and maybe no. 7 who has a jockey that I always like when the odds are high.
After I see these, I may do a little 1 or 2 dollar mix and matching 4,5,6 and 1,4,7. BTW, I'm worried about the no. 10 upsetting everything in this race. SHEESH!

5th: :00011 Rated 1-5-2, with no. 1 getting much the best nos. Now, what about the ole question (for this place), "What about the 208 day vacation this one just took. These races don't get any easier. I got 5 top/bot w1,2,6,10,11.

Give TigerZ the credit for this nice, comprehensive, neat, .. .. ah, interesting post :mj07:
I took his compliments to heart and did my bestest with this one. Tellya, this won't last long though.

Now, git them dirt bombs hosses on the busses, get on the Turnpike, and head straight back to good ole PhilaDelPhia Wace Twack and do it fast. And check for any foxes the day BEFORE thems horses race. Danit!

Take it easy shelling out the noola at this race track even though i had a little more confidene on only one horse at this place so far and could kick myself in the ass for only putting TWO freakin dollars Win/Place on that $28 winnah on opening day. :chairshot

So far...

So far...

Not so hot. so/so

2nd race: took the better route and went with reasonable sized bets ATB on nos. 7and 8. The $6 show with the Pl.Show on the 7 made that race profitable.

Only other hit was the just completed 5th.. zackta paid $40.40, that helped.

I guess best news of the day is getting ONLY 13 Visitors, bad news is the time I put in on those comments and no interest among the MJers. SMART MOVE, MJers - steering clear of this track. :)

REALLY looking forward to get back to Philly. I'll prob post how I DID in the 6th, last chance at 3 figures for this track. No sense posting anything, I'm rushing to get everything ready for the 6th anyways. BTW, that no. 2 was a LOOKER in the 5th.

Gotta go.. not quite done figuring out the how to aim the dart for the finale.

3.7 t/b 5/6 they're loading

EDITED: RESULT 2-5-7. two favs. :mj02:
Put that no. 7 on the 'RTR" (Ready to Roll list), may have won it but lost TOO much ground when that one had to go around 4 horses blocking it in the stretch; actually lost EXCESSIVE ground.

The streak conitues.... another losing A.C. "season" (not nearly as bad as others though) Too bad, got off to a great start too. Place is just for enjoyment and excitment, NOT for making moola. Think I got a fair shake asfaras the price I paid for the "vacation" from Philly. Time to get more serious.

HOPEFULLY, this forum will heat up a bit with the Derby on tap; looks that way too. Reminds me what Mrs. Boski tells me about all the wonderful, new faces in Church on Easter and Christmas every year. Ah.. I'm one of them :s2:

My thoughts about these MAJOR races is to get a BIT of a preview of the horses that will be competing, watch closely whatever pre-Derby preps that you can, and DON'T overload on the pre-race talk. Using all the lessons learned from previous MAJORS (only a little Breeders Cup experience cause luck just plays too much of a role in those races methinks) and plenty of Triple Crown experience) and using that along wth whatever handicapping methods that have worked best is the answer. Heavy emphasis on how each of the Triple Crown race tracks governs the race is important.
Most bettors prob. feel that this last part is common knowledge. Acutally the long, grueling Belmont track has the SHORTEST stretch (1097 feet) by quite a bit ... AND Churchill has the LONGEST by a sizable margin (1,234 feet)

Fun in the Sun is over and now it's time to head back "home" and GIT DAT CASH.

Edited: format codes typoes, being a neat freak lately.
