Headed to the game in the morning. Never been to Athens. Can anybody from in or around Athens tell me a good place to grab a beer and some wings before the game? Also where would the best place to park near the staduim? Sure glad to see football season here!

Not wings suggestions because the best places in Athens are wings delivery.

But my favorite pre-drinking place is Taco Stand if I have to go to a bar. You will be better staying on the lawn where the arches are. It should be a great atmosphere, and you won't have any trouble from anyone being from the opposition as long as your not a cocky punk (I will assume this is not the case).

After the game, I suggest going to Boar's Head. The Mellow Mushroom there used to be great, but they have moved locations and the new one is not as good.

When I was there, I think there were 62 bars downtown in a 4 x 4 block area, so you won't have any troubles finding a place to drink.

If you are a strip club fan, you are out of luck. Not a problem for me because I don't really care for them but Toppers downtown is the only choice and I hear that it is awful from my friends that like going.

Thanks for the post dawgball. Was already on the road though. Had a great time and the dawg fans were top notch. Took some razzing of course but in the end with the dogs putting it on my pokes all the fans in red were in a very good mood and were very nice to say the least. Loved the campus and the atmosphere for the game was fun to experience. Lots of tradition and some of the finest looking gals I have seen anywhere. Would go back anytime.
