Went for it 4th and 1 at 29 td line

how do you go for that right up the fawking middle when you know the Saints were going to stuff anything up the gut.

play action, end around, use some thinking

not to mention Ryans arm strength. He underthrew more receivers than a pop warner QB.
He just aint got the arm.

Falcons coaching sucks

Sounds like my remote was spared by me missing this one. Not to take up for the coaches as they could have called a different play, but if you can't pick up 1 yard u don't deserve to win. If u ask me are the chances better to pick up a yard or stop breeze from getting 35 to set up field goal, I try the yard.

I would have punted or gone with play action. Falcs had their way up front, so saints had to sell out to make that stop.

Huge game in the division. Rematch should be fun. I'll be there in Nola the day after christmas:toast:

Surely, Falcons head coach Mike Smith wasn?t really going to go for it on fourth down from his own 29 in overtime, right? After a review overturned an Atlanta first down catch and set the Falcons up instead with 4th-and-inches, Smith?s decision to send Matt Ryan and his offense back on the field had to be a ploy to try to draw the Saints offside or force them to use a timeout.

Only it turned out to be the real deal. Playing at home, after overcoming a 23-13 deficit late, Smith decided he couldn?t trust his defense.

So, instead, Atlanta called a run play up the gut for Michael Turner. New Orleans stuffed it, then kicked the game-winning field goal. The NFC South is now the Saints? to lose, in large part because of Smith?s baffling decision to go for the win.
