No frills post today:

1st race: Playing no. 2 (8/1) I don't thisk I'll be getting 8 to 1 on this no. 2, prob. a bit less.

BTW, I do a completlly different way to cap A.C. Not nearly as comprehensive as I do with Philly. Mostly go by turf related stuff, pace, connections and strong hunches based on mostly the past performances. A.C. has more than 80% of the Philly colony here so that helps a lot.

2nd race: I'm going for it  . No. 10, Lemon Zing (15 to 1). I think I'll get better odds than that when the gate opens. This one is my kinda longshot. I went for this dirt bomb recently and it didn't do well at all. Looking for Lemon to give them the ZINGER today. If this one just finishes in the moola, the race will be profitable. Actually this race is WIDE OPEN and that usually means a price hoss. Win or lose, I think we'll see some big nos. on the results board when the feathers stop flying.

3rd race: 3,9 top/bot 5,11 also box the 3,9.. all zacta bets.

4th race: Gave it a go... forget this one -> No Play

5th race: I got no. 5 boxed with 6 others.

That's it for now. G.L.

Good to seeya

Good to seeya

I've cut back on the FUN part of playing the horses and substituted PROFIT and that has paid off (lose A LOT less .... :mj07:) last several+ years. BUT, I'm glad I'm fiddling with A.C. and enjoying this track and hoss wacin more too.

I just watched the first race and can't believe I'm actually picking wieners at this place. No.2 was my top rated horse and won easily. That doesn't mean I won though :( .
If there is a track to ignore favorites, this is the place to do just that. The no. 6, Artful Persuasion, was a bit of a L@@KER and that one usually has big early speed that might come in useful at this twack. I know that this one also carries a BIGGER anchor along for the ride almost every time it runs. Played the ole 2<-->6 eroo and also a 5<-->6 boxero.

Hope you enjoy the races today and betting small is prob. a very good idea at this place.

Maybe a teenie weenie across the board play on the "Zinger" in this upcomming race ain't a bad idea. I did go for more $$ on this one.

Don't forget - if ya watching the telecast, do use that guy who gives his FOUR picks between races to ELIMATE horses, that is ELIMINATE his plicks. :)

"See ya later", Hammy.

EDITED: STILL two minutes to post and I can't believe that there no. 10 is "down" to 8 to 1. :(

OUCH!

OUCH!

Got ZONKED in that race, plick didn't have much at all despie looking pretty good in the prerace too. My fun level dropped a bit when I see that my three top rated hosses were the 2-11-12.

Zinger was rated 4th and I liked a lot about this risky longshot. Oh well.

In the 3rd, think I'll include your no. 8 in zacks; that one is a decent Philly dirt bagger/bomber. Boxing 3,8. plenty of time till post.

just got back from the track. this meet is hilarious every year. theres tons of people there because they only race live for 6 days or so to keep simulcasting open all year.

pretty sure most trainers use this race as a workout because a lot of horses havent race in a half year. or have never raced on grass.

there is some great value though. the pools are decent sized because of the volume and a lot of big prices hit the board. great for playing across the board wagers.

Just jump to the bottem where the picks are if ya falling asleep with this thing

Just jump to the bottem where the picks are if ya falling asleep with this thing

Hammy, I just knew I was right when I thought that this track is about impossible for me to beat. Got too confident after doing VERY well on opening day. I am enjoying the place; just gotta stop betting similar to how I bet Philly. Bankaroo is now down (not very much though) for this meet so far. One good exacta will do the trick :).

Airportis, your're prob. right about trainers using the place for "practice runs". LOL
Although many of the Philly regulars brought in horses that are in current form or, at least, actively racing all along. Maybe giving them test runs on turf though?
Man, I'd LUV to revisit that place; musta changed-a-plenty since then.

Just some stuff that some "GUEST" will enjoy reading Dept. :)

The level of FUN that I was having took a bit of a drop yesterday. You know this kinda stuff that happens to all hossplayers. Here's just two that come to mind...

Only 3 playable races yesterday, one of them required the Preperation H treatment afterwards -

1st race: After going over this race REAL closelike (timewise too) I wrote down no. 2 top/bot w. 4,5,7,10,11. Now when I betem, I crossed out the no. 11.. yeah, TO SAVE TWO STINKIN DOLLARS (1 stinkin dollar zacks at this twack yesterday for me :s2: ). OF COURSE, the 2/11 zack paid $107.40. Did collect a side order, W/Pl, on no. 2, 4 dollars each way. Really!

5th race: This one takes the cake... just like all the the races I cap., went over this one real closlely and wrote down .. no. 5 top/bot 2,3,4,9,11. Now, no. 5 got scwatched and so did the no. 3 so that left me with the 2,4,9,11. I made a good move and played 11 top/bot 2,4,9 and hit a small exacta. Hmmm.. I guess a better move woulda been playing ZUPPAS (but, I almost NEVER play them). know what? .... the ZUPPA was 11-9-4-2. If I did I'm sure I woulda played it for 50cents cause there wasn't many picks I had for this race. That woulda been nice, collecting $265 on a 50 cent ticket. SON-ah-Mah-BITCH!.

All I gotta do is start playing Supers and you know what... I'll hit one when the cow jumps over the freakin moon. I REALLY am thinking about turning my usual exacta type bets to trifectas though. Too many of them have the trifectas in the nos.

Back to the CASE AT HAND - today's waces

3rd race: Well, these are the 3 top plicks.. 11,9,6 respectively. Don't like the fact that 2 of the 3 are the favorites. I got the No. 1 hoss, Praire Trip (8/1), rated VERY low; almost last. BUT, I remember this one facing some high class runners and was always rated by cappers as a contender vs. them. I don't know why they only raced this one twice on the turf, him's breed for the turf! Anyway, IF I bet this wace, this one will be included with the top picks. I'd like this one even more if the race was longer than 5 1/2 furlongs.

5th race: Top two rated ones are nos. 6 (15/1) and no. 7 (2/1). I NEVER EVER seen a 3 furlong workout like the no. 6 had for this race. I've seen plenty of world champion sprinters workouts and this one beats them all. Secretariat couldn't (wouldn't ?) be able to go 3 furlong in a workout in 33 and change. This is ridiculous. I think it's a mistake or a typo. Maybe a drunkin clocker or he had an Ipad 2 inches from his nose? But, IF it's any indication of how he'll run today.. . hell, he could be walking over the finish line AND STILL WIN THIS RACE.

OH, BTW, the workout is only a small reason why this no. 6 got top rated. Even the A.C. tourists will bet this one methinks.

6th race: it's PLAYABLE, but I gotta finish going over it.

G.L. sorry bout the length of this thing, but it's nice to see some players in this forum.

FUN at A.C. today?

FUN at A.C. today?

Ain't gonna monopolize this place so I'll just continue adding to this thread until somebody else has something going on. Reminds me of "LaLaLa". Hey, him's smarter than "us" and avoiding A.C. all together.

They're heading for the starting gate in the 3rd, no. 11 is a bit of a L@@KER.

Edited - 10-11-9 finish. Liked the 10,9 and got plenty of teenie weenie tickets on tries and zacks. Good thing no. 7 sqwatched; that turned a big scratch into a barely noticeable slight smear on the bankaroo. That tri. didn't include the A.C. fireworks option in the payout. That no. 11 was well meant with Mouch aboard and just got clipped at the finsh line. I didn't care for the winnah, no. 10.

NO to-do list for me today or unexpected visitors ("guests" LOL), gonna sit back and watch A.C. and continue to feedem some peanuts today. Luvin every bit of it. HOT outside. Jump in if you're watching or playing A.C. or open your own thread and I'll jump in. Don't worry, I WILL jump in IF I catch an A.C. lunker. "mj07:

Oh. 4th race is a NO PLAY.

The Handicapper pick beats the Wise Guy AGAIN.

finish was 7-2-6.

Thats one thing I've noticed about this game, wise guy picks (you know "angles that you think nobody else sees") that are TOO obvious AND show up in the betting of the race .. just don't work out as planned. I think the layoff was the reason the no. 6 could only get third. I'd watch for this one at Philly. NEVER go overboard on these situations IF they show up in the actual betting of the race. I didn't, learned that much.

TigerZ (you spell like I do :) ), I like my chances in the Triple Crown races so I will be posting for those events. Belmont Stakes is the one that I've done best with. I've been at that stakes race, at the track, many, many times and fact is that the biggest wiener I EVER had (all tracks online, in person, all years too and there's plenty of them) was the year (2001 (?)) in the Belmont. Sareva was my only pick and that one paid well over a hundred dollars to WIN. I've had more winnahs in the Belmont vs. the other two Triple Crowners. NEVER just look for prices no matter what track you play thouth; thems gotta come to YOU. Nuthin wrong with playing a favorite, thems win too. But, IF my pick(s) is/are favored and the the race is among competitive horses in large fields (no. of hosses in the race) - I'll just skip the race.

Prob. won't have notes to post leading up to the Derby, etc. but I will have comments when I post the plicks. I will be watching the races that lead up to the Derby.

It's the Breeders Cup races that I totally ignore... Yeah, the prices are great for those events yet, I think you're better off shooting for the moon with a scratch off tidket or a Fantasy 5 jobbie.

Appreciate the Kudos, Tigerz and Good Luck to ya in them BIG HOSS WACES!

I know I didn't cause the odds to go from 5/2 to 4/5  but will take the positive ROI.

I know what you're writing, Hammy. Been seeing too much of that myself as well. How bout that 15/1 shot I liked (above) that goes off at something like 7/2. I got enough of a handle to know when that's gonna happen for Philly Park, but STILL.... that doesn't do much good cause you're gonna get what you're gonna get at the cashier's window. As long as we get to visit the cashier that is.

Dabble with them zactas at A.C. ESP. if you like a favored in the zackta. The payoffs for those situations at A.C. are usually VALUE. It's the expected BONANZA type exactas, tries that don't pay what they should. If you think of the type of bettors that bet A.C. .. . this stuff all makes sense.

G.L. Hammy whatever you're up to.
