Sorry, i got my hands full with the pro officials. Taking on the college referees bring to mind launching a land invasion of Red China. A "no win" situation. The NCAA is the most evil and corrupt organization in sports, and the officials are the lest of the problem. Well, maybe not.

What I am actually saying is just because some moron committee says that Miami and Ohio State are playing for the championship doesn't mean diddly squat. That system is all theoretical.

This debate goes on every year and what ya get is some nickel and dime team who had most of their games at home to be dubbed the national champions. The Bowl Committee method leaves to many questions unresolved.

USC lost two games (including one to a team that OSU beat by 18 points). Who exactly did USC beat, anyways? Iowa? Is this the same Iowa that lost to bad to mediocre Iowa State on Iowa's home field? Hmmmm...Who else did they beat?
Jesus, some of you guys are unbelieveable. Good luck making a case that a 2 loss team is somehow better than a 14-0 team that beat the supposedly invincible 34 in a row Miami Hurricanes(along with plenty of other very good teams). All we heard for the whole 2nd half of the season is 'OSU will lose, and if they don't, they will get destroyed by the incredibly incredible Miami Hurricanes'.
Let's face it, the best two teams played for the NC this year.i
I'm not denying that Ohio State is the legitimate national champion, but how can you say "Who did USC beat?" Well, going into the playoffs they had the toughest schedule in all of the NCAA, and that didn't include Iowa. They played 10 teams that went to bowl games, though almost everybody goes to bowl games nowadays. Ohio State is the national champion - deservedly so. But anybody that asks "Who did USC play?" is living in a strange world.

Kosar , you are obviously right - I misread your comment. Certainly USC is an over-rated team and wouldn't belong on the field with any of the powerhouses that Ohio State beat throughout the year. I would certainly think more of a team that beat a MAC school than one who lost to KState. I am in no way looking to denigrate OSU, while you seem comfortable to scoff at a quality team like USC.
