Blue; I completely agree I think Auburn is a top notch team; I think they would beat USC and it would be a toss up with OU; I am just saying that how you perform and win on the road is more important than your home games and I just dont think that Tenn game was that big of win. I will give Auburn all the credit in the world but you I believe that Bama will give them their biggest test of the year just due to the fact that its at Bama. I think everyone would agree that the SEC is down this year but its still much much better than PAC 10 and if you on the same level at the big XII south. I would rate USC below Auburn because if you look at the way USC has played this year especially on the road; they were down double digits to a a horrible stanford team and were down at halftime to a horrible Oreg State team. Its sad that USC gets a free pass and Auburn has to sweat it out if they do end up going undefeated. The key to this game will be if Bama can take an early lead and get the crowd going. If they can do that Auburn is trouble. I believe the Auburn RB will get their yards but last year Cad has over 200 yards and Auburn only won by 5 so just like any other game this game will come down to turnovers. Good luck on your plays. Hope to rebound this week.

Anyone know Pennington's status. If he is out then I will not be happy. I think he is much better than Guillon.

I'll answer my own question.

 Coach says he will play.

Can you give us an update on Spencer (Pennington) and Le?Ron (McClain)?

?They?re both getting better. They?ll both practice today and be limited but as of right now we expect them both to play.?

Le'Ron is a key to bama's sucess in this game Atleast IMO
He's a great power fullback that gives Darby some great blocking and can also catch great out of the backfield

great write-up Blue

I'm a huge Alabama fan but i don't doubt that this Auburn team is good, in-fact their great but Alabama's record doesn't give them enough credit IMO I'm with you on this one i think it will be one HELL of a game

You guys present alot of good points. We all know how big the rivalry is but I think that AU run away with this one after a closely fought first half. GL with the plays!

BBK,

If you really think Bama will win this game outright, why in the world would Bama plus 10 not be a HUGE play for you?

Bama injury update

Bama injury update

The following info came from BamaOnline, the Rivals webpage.

Marc Guillon took the snaps at practice on Tuesday. Guillon has a torn muscle in his back but says he feels 100% better than he did one month ago.

Current starter Spencer Pennington was unavailable for comment.

Starting TE Clint Johnston is less than 100% due to a concussion. If unable to play Saturday his replacement will be true freshman Trent Davidson.

This is a truly banged up bama squad and no one is sure that Pennington will be able to play. bbk I do agree that if Bama scores first and gets the crowd involved Auburn might have a struggle. Auburn has been explosive early in the games this year and I expect the trend to continue. Furthermore read the following comments from Bama LB Freddie Roach.

"I don't think you can possibly stop 23 (Brown) and 24 (Williams) both," Alabama linebacker Freddie Roach said. "We just got to limit their yards. As far as stopping them, I don't think that's possible."
Makes you wonder if Bama is mentally preparded.

i think Roach's comment shows how mentally prepared they are. They know that it's highly unlikely to stop both of AU's great runners and being able to contain them is a great way to prepare for this game. If they were looking to completely shut them down then i think that Alabama would be in a lot of trouble.
I think that they have the right mentality here and they know what their up against.

Early morning AM radio here in Bama is getting pretty good. The morning show that I listen to is hosted by none other than Jay Barker..........He even thinks that is going to be a lopsided victory. His comments this morning were something to the tune of " I don't think Alabama has a realistic shot at winning this game, but you just have to wait and see "?

Down here in the heart of this rivalry it is starting to heat up with the fans I can tell you that first hand. I had this obnoxious Alabama fan come up to me last night and congratulate me on a great 10-1 regular season...............Gimme a break! Was not 5 minutes later another one of these retards tells me the same thing. I mean can you not come up with something better than that? At least open up your rant with some Bear Bryant legacy story, then fade that into a direct insult but at least put some thought into it or wait till you even play.

How many Alabama fans does it take to change a light bulb?

100!

1 to change the light bulb and 99 others to stand around and talk about how good the old light bulb " USED TO BE "!!

After all my talk about this game I am laying off. I said all season that Auburn will win the NCAA championship, and I will not back off that now. Bottomline, Auburn will not lose this game. I feel Alabama may cover, but that line is way to high at 10, and it could be the ultimate trap bet as Auburn looks to really lay it on Bama. Good luck to everyone on this game but it is a no play for me. I am sticking to one of the golden rules of gambling, If you don't think the dog can win outright, then don't play it. And I do not believe the dog can win outright.

couple of notes....

70% chance of rain in tuscaloosa on saturday afternoon...this could help bama keep it close, but i doubt it.

second, UGA had 114 rushing yards on 28 carries=4 yds a carry which is good, but 38 were in the 4th quarter when AU was playing safeties back not wanting to give up a big pass play that could let UGA back in the game. when it really mattered...2nd and short, 3rd and short....they could not move the chains against AU's defense. with injuries to qbs coupled with the fact they can't throw the ball downfield anyway, auburn will put 8 and 9 in the box which will stop the bama running game. becuase of this, i believe if Auburn reaches 17 they cover, if not bama covers.

AU special teams continue to be strong, while bama's cost them dearly last weekend. If the same holds true this weekend, it will be a cakewalk for the Tigers.

Auburn is the most complete team in college football. They would beat USC and/or Oklahoma and should crush Alabama, but remember, THIS IS A RIVALRY game! Bama will come out more intense than they have in the past three or so years. The Tide has a chance to knock the Tigers out of National Title contention. I don't care about stats, SOS, offense, defense, etc. You can throw all of that sh*t out the window. When the whistle blows, Bama will be ready, and they WILL break the hearts of Auburn University and their fans. Roll Tide Roll...

Bama may cover but monkeys will fly outta my butt before they win this game. Everyone assumes since it is a rivalry game the underdog will take it to the house. Rivalry or not, Auburn is the dominant team all across the board. Don't forget this team knows a loss ruins the NC hopes, As Campbell said earlier this week, "It's our Destiny."

Alabama safety Charlie Peprah confessed he enjoys watching the Tigers offense.

``It's kind of fun to watch them play, because they've got two of the country's best backs,'' Peprah said. ``You've got Carnell to put back there with the fullback or sit back there by himself. Then you've got Ronnie Brown who will sit back there by himself or with the fullback. Then you bring them both in. It's kind of neat to watch.

The only way I would bet under is because the forecast in T Town is rain!!!!! Bama will have to rely on there running game. If Pennington gets hurt which he is playing hurt now I guess the Drum Major will be lineing under center. I look for Auburns D to take him out of the game fast. Alabama has no Offensive line to stop Auburns D. Things to thank about.

I wish I was going to the game. I want to buy a few tshirts for a few bama faithful they make after the game. I tore my rotar cup at work and gave my tickets away to Georgia game. Oh well. Bama is not mentally perpared. I ran into Carnells dad at cafe other day eating lunch. He said that Carnell and the boys are hyped up and ready to play!!!! WAR DAMN EAGLE!!! They couldnt stop our 3 rd string RB a few years ago much less stop our 1 and 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!
